Just saw this on local KATV television 10PM news:

Officer was responding to a cell phone call from victim in trunk stating that she had been kidnapped.
Officers respond to apartment where woman said she was being taken.
Officers knock, let in by kidnappers roomate, and search home.
Find kidnap victim okay, search closet, and suspect comes out shooting.
Cop hit in leg (non life threatening), cop and partner return fire killing suspect.

KATV (ABC affiliate) just showed it, since it is breaking....not up on website yet.

I posted this in Front Page and Texas, even though it happened right on the border.

Whats up with the last 30 days? Seems like perps are shooting cops with regularity. Prayers for the cops and victim. This one was close, but the good guys won.

Oh, and those of you interested in crime, Little Rock just had its 49th recorded murder (3 brain dead in hospital, 1 on intertate) and really has about 56, making it an extremely deadly here in Pulaski County, AR (Little Rock and surrounding area).....

Pack heat...carry cell phone...don't go south of I-630.

UPDATE: (from buddy at State Police in Texarkana, AR)
Cop going to be okay, lost about a walnut size piece of flesh from his thigh and chipped bone in his upper leg. Is in an airsplint now and will be released in the morning...watching for infection tonight.

Demographics: (to be confirmed later)
Cop shot = White or Black,
Cops Partner = White or Black,
Criminal with prior record and on parole = Black.
