The Republicans DID cover for Foley. He wanted to resign before this. They went nuts, and insisted he not, they needed the seat. I cannot say anything about WHO knew- but THEY KNEW! DEMS knew too..

I am quite disinterested in this story. (disconnected might be a better word)
Why? Think for a moment:
-No sex actually took place
-Openly gay Congressmen are probably ACTUALLY HAVING gay sex daily in their offices right now (paging--hahaha--Barney Frank)
--Pelosi et al knew about this for quite a while
--Brian Ross (ABC) sat on this story since August
-Foley is no longer in Congress (HELLO, he has RESIGNED)
-This is just another example of the DNC's Culture of Conniption
AND FINALLY a question or two you can ask your lib friends:
-How many poor families are being helped by this story?
-Is harping on this story going to bring our troops home any sooner?
-Is any of this helping the people of New Orleans rebuild their lives?

AND, I have heard that there is supposed to be a big announcement at 4:00 this afternoon by some website about a major DEM that knew about this.

It's been established that Hastert only saw the two emails last year, and there was nothing odd about them. They were harmless, and he did not see the IM's last year so the Democrats accusations of cover up just hold no water. What will be interresting is Hastert pushing WHO sat on the IMs for a couple years and never reported them, and who made the decision to make them public five weeks before an election without presenting the IMs to the GOP leadership FIRST so they could take action on them. That proves this is politically motivated, not becuase of some wrong done. Even the Congressman from Louisiana who sponsored this Paige said that the emails were harmless.
I'm fully expecting that this Paige will be running for office on a Democrat ticket in the coming years. 16 and 17 year olds have agendas just like adults do, and by that time, people know what political side they relate with. I sure did and even at 13 and 14 I knew I would vote Republican when I turned 18 because of my conservative beliefs. This Paige was part of this, and deliberately sat on these IMs until election time to get maximum effect, and the Democrat Party and media helped him out with it. THAT'S the real scandle. Foley is gone and should be, but the Democratrs and media that manipulated this to make a pre-election news story should be gone too.

Democrats aren't revolted by their Senior Senator from West Virginia, the former Grand Poobah of the KKK, using the "N" word on national TV. But they are just outraged that Pres. Bush would accurately use the term "Islamofascists".
Democrats are not outraged by a sitting President being accused of rape, or dropping trow in the Oral Office, or using an intern as a humidor.....or that the same sitting Pres groped an employee, in the Oral Office...
Democrats are not outraged by Jihadists declaring war on the US, they aren't outraged at the Islamonazis sawing off the head of those they have kidnapped.

Of course, Democrats are not at all outraged when the titular head of their party states that Pres Bush had foreknowledge of 9/11. But they are totally outraged when Pres Bush stands accused of questioning the Democrats' patriotism, which he never did. And, of course, they are totally schizoid at the "fact" that Pres Bush called Iraq an "imminent threat", again, which he never did. But they are not outraged that the only person prior to the invasion of Iraq who termed Iraq an "imminent threat", was John Edwards on Meet the Press, twice.
Democrats are not outraged by Liitle Dick Durbin calling our troops Nazis, or calling them followers of Pol Pot and Stalin's goons...they are not outraged by Ted Kennedy comparing our soldiers who put panties on a prisoner's head, to Saddam's goons who fed people into plastic shredders, feet first...
Democrats are outraged by Duke Cunningham accepting bribes, but are not outraged by William Jefferson accepting bribes.
They are totally outraged by the movie, Path to 9/11, because it is critical of BJ Clinton, but are delusionally happy with Fahrenheit 911 and Dan Rather's forged documents, which are false but accurate (huh?).
They are ecstatic that Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton are galavanting about the world trashing our country, but are outraged that Pres Bush took out the Taliban and Saddam, a known supporter of terrorism.
They are outraged that Pres Bush wants to win the war on terror, but are not outraged when John Kerry accuses our troops of terrorizing women, kids and children (sic), or when Murtha accuses our troops of killing Iraqi civilians in cold blood.
They are outraged that we would go into Iraq because it is, in their view, not in our national interest. Yet they were deliriously happy when BJ Clinton sent our troops into Bosnia "for one year", and are not outraged that our troops are still there 11 years later, even though the Bosnia situation was of no national strategic importance. Not to mention their total outrage at the fact that we may have to be in Iraq for several years. They are NOT outraged though, that we are still in Bosnia 11 years after we went in for one year.
Of course they are just beside themselves that we expanded the WOT and took out Saddam and did not focus our energy on getting OBL. But are not at all upset or outraged that BJ refused the offer of OBL, and ADMITTED his refusal on tape, unbeknownst to him.
They are not outraged that Clinton had no "exit strategy" for Bosnia, (since we are still there 11 years later), but are totally outraged that we won't announce to the world (and our enemies) what out exit strategy is for Iraq.
Of course, they are outraged that ANYONE would accuse them of advocating a "cut and run" strategy for Iraq, when they are, in fact, advocating a "strategic withdrawal to Okinawa", 4899 miles away.
They are outraged that we would dare to profile Muslims, and are not outraged, and even applaud, the forced removal of the 10 Commandments from a Courthouse. They are outraged because a school student would read the Bible during recess, but are not outraged when one of their own accuses our troops, falsely, of flushing a Koran down the loo, causing the death of heaven knows how many people in the riots around the world that the false accusation caused.
They are not outraged when a doctor sticks a needle into the back of a baby's head, and sucks out it's brain, but they are outraged when proven killers like Tookie Williams and Robert Alton Harris, are put to death.
Once again we are witnessing the selective outrage of the Democrat Party. According to them, every Republican member of congress is implicated somehow. They ALL new! They should ALL resign. The Doomacrats should take over Congress, although they have no platform and no agenda. But they have outrage. No answers...just outrage. Plan for Iraq...OUTRAGE! Plan for the economy? OUTRAGE!
As usual, their outrage is selectively and transparently political. But this has to play out. Without question, Foley is a degenerate. However, the Democrats' inconsistency in their indignation and outrage, and their penchant for politicizing every possible event, no matter how tragic or sad, will result in their overplaying this too. The result will be that this, too, will blow up in their face, leaving the Dems wandering what the blazes happened.
Of course, the question uppermost in my mind, is "Is this really the deciding issue of our time"?
