RIYADH (Reuters) - The 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) on Monday condemned a new round of Danish cartoons ridiculing the Prophet Mohammad, saying the values of tolerance were shrinking in Europe.
Danish state TV on Friday broadcast amateur video footage showing members of the anti-immigrant Danish Peoples' Party (DPP) at a summer camp in August, drinking, singing and taking part in a competition to draw images mocking the Prophet.
"Muslims have noted with concern that the values of tolerance are eroding and there is now shrinking space for others' religious, social and cultural values in the West," said a statement sent to Reuters by the Jeddah-based OIC, the world's largest Islamic grouping.
"The OIC spokesman deplores the act of caricaturing of Prophet Mohammad by the youth members of the Danish Peoples Party and this being shown, regrettably, on state television," the statement said.
"The running of the footage affected the sensibilities of civilized people and religious beliefs of one fifth of humanity," it said, adding that Muslims around the world had so far shown restraint.
Just over a year ago violence ensued after the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten published cartoons of the Prophet, including one showing him with a bomb in his turban. Protests led to the deaths of over 50 people in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has denounced the DPP members for drawing the humiliating cartoons. Senior DPP members refused to apologize and party leader Pia Kjaersgaard criticized media for airing the footage of what she called a private party.

The Danes really know how to get the Islamofascist's goat, don't they?
Go Dane's Go.
Every sect clamors for toleration when it is down. We have not the smallest doubt that, when Bonner was in the Marshalsea, he thought it a very hard thing that a man should be locked up in a gaol for not being able to understand the words, This is my body, in the same way with the lords of the council. It would not be very wise to conclude that a beggar is full of Christian charity, because he assures you that God will reward you if you give him a penny; or that a soldier is humane because he cries out lustily for quarter when a bayonet is at his throat. The doctrine which from the very first origin of religious dissensions, has been held by all bigots of all sects, when condensed into a few words, and stripped of rhetorical disguise, is simply this: I am in the right and you are in the wrong. When you are the stronger you ought to tolerate me; for it is your duty to tolerate truth. But when I am the stronger I shall persecute you; for it is my duty to persecute error. Macaulay, Sir James Mackintosh.
Tolerance for Muslims, but no tolerance by Muslims.
Screw 'em.

Having solved all the other problems in the world....
***the values of tolerance were shrinking in Europe. ***
Tolerance appears to be a one way street. So it is US who must get off the sidewalk and say "Sir" when the moslems walk by.
I don't think so.
57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC)will release an announcement condemning the atrocity being discussed on the following thread:
Militants Kill Missionary Couple's 2 Children Who Refused To Convert To Islam
My expectation is that we'll hear * * * * crickets chirping * * * *
How about condemning the head choppings and throat slittings?
All of this could be stopped by spraying the riot with pig fat. Just think of it. No death, no destruction, no faked photos. Just spray everything with pig fat. No more Mooooooooooooooslims.
No the West still holds on to the values of tollerance. But we don't have to tollerate any and everything. We are begining to draw a line and choose that which we will and will not tollerate. We won't tollerate those who wish to squelch free speech, press, and religion the way muslims do. Values we hold just as dear or more so than 'tollerance'!
PC way of saying they don't consider most Westerners to be civilized, cuz we're used to having our sensibilities affected, including our sensibilities about our religious beliefs.
