My daughter is applying to colleges right now. The cost of a college education is outrageous. They need to fire these idiots. I'm betting that if they did that, the quality of education would increase, and the cost would decline.

Have you considered http://www.hillsdale.edu as an option? Conservative, no public funds, etc.

The cost of a college education goes up the more it is subsidized. Harvard is sufficiently endowed that it doesn't need to charge anything, but since they would miss out on government aid if they didn't, they jack up the price.

Keep that in mind as you negotiate scholarships...
