DFLer Patty Wetterling leads Republican Michele Bachmann 48 to 40 percent in the hot race for Congress in Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District, according to the latest Star Tribune Minnesota Poll. Independence Party candidate John Binkowski received the support of 4 percent.

As does Walter Mondale.
Minneapolis Red Star poll ping
What a bogus poll. Republicans work during the day! Sheesh!
Bachmann is ahead in all the other polls I've seen.
This district went 57% for Bush last time. If they elect a liberal Democrat then shame on the GOP voters who don't turn out.
If this poll is accurate it sounds like Wetterling is still gaining ground after running those scurrious ads in which she practically accused Republicans of coddling child molesters. It used to be that voters were turned off by negative ads like that but it sounds like a lot of people in MN can be fooled. You can just imagine the reaction though if Repubs ran such untruthful vicious ads. The media would call them on it and scream foul immediately.
Everytime I read the polls now a days all I can think of is
DEWEY WINS!!!
B as in "B" and S as in "S," to quote local radio guy Joe Soucheray.
They think by printing this pantload, they're going to make it so? i guess it's their big setup to make it appear that the pubs stole the election. This just gets sooooo tiresome.
Yeah, you're probably right about Kline. He'll be down 20% in their next poll. I'm glad the poll that counts in on November 7th. I'm going to be first in line that day and vote straight Republican.
You know they're gonna mess with the exit polls. Vote early if you can folks!
ROTFLMAO!!!!!
And some people say satire is dead!
Tsunami or blip?
The possible volatility in the race caused by the Foley story makes the numbers susceptible to two interpretations, said political scientist Lawrence Jacobs of the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute.
"This could be a sign of a political tsunami approaching the mainland in which Democrats can win even Republican-friendly districts, or it could be a momentary blip following the Foley scandal," he said.
STOP IT Eric....you're killin me!
WELCOME TO FREE REPUBLIC'S MINNESOTA PING LIST!!!
Let me know if you want on or off this list!
Vikings to meet Dolphins in Super Bowl.
thanks for the ping.
I cant believe this bullcrap polling...its laughable
Truth be told, I'm not sure what to believe.
There was another poll (in the last week) that showed Wetterling with a 5-point lead.
The StarTribune's polling has always been suspect - in spite of their repeated denials that they have a built-in bias.
What worries me the most is that there seems to be a fair amount of 6th District voters who are actually watching Wetterling's ads and saying "Gosh, we really need her to clean up DC for us!".
Mark Kennedy (war lover, jerk) 6%
Amy Klobo (the best prosecutor ever) 94%John Kline (Military Fascist Nazi) 10%
Coleen Rowley (FBI savior of 9/11) 90%Michele Bachmann (hater, lyncher of gays, religious zealot) 7%
Patty Wetterling (tireless protector of the children) 93%Tim Pawlenty (Tax raiser, Police cutter, eater of puppies) 12%
Mike Hatch (protecting you from evil corporations) 88%Alan Fine (wife beater, liar, a**hole) 4%
Tammy Lee (uppity b*tch that dares to run against the DFL) 6%
Keith Ellison (standing up for the oppressed) 90%"Remember republicans are very bad people, so get out and vote to save your children by putting the DFL in charge.
Jim Boyd, Rochelle Olson, Nick Coleman and the rest of the Star Tribune staff."
LOL!
Hysterical!
Yeah...I'd just ignore this poll. It can't be right, after all. Put your feet up. Watch the game. Heck, the GOP can't lose in Minnesota and the Star-Tribune's polls are always wrong. /sarc
I'm not so sure. While their polls may be slanted, the movement is real. Complacency right now is not a good idea, and I'm not just talking about Minnesota, either.
Barf alerts don't win elections.
At some point isn't it time to quit laughing at these polls and calling them what they are - criminal?
This isn't a simple "silly Star Tribune" bias anymore, this is the purposeful attempt to engineer an election the way they want it.
We've laughed at these polls now for a number of election cycles, but there are people here in this state that may very well have their decisions finalized by the "momentum" of the electorate.
Unless they start producing legitimate polls with legitimate internals their results should be carried in the editorial section.
MN Freeps and others in tight races: help get out the vote. Call, drive, hold up a candidate's sign and wave at an intersection. It's fun with friends - grab one and go!
