A typical liberal: demands generosity from others while being cheap himself. Reminds me of Algore giving all of $200 to charity one year while denouncing "greedy" Republicans. Its remarkably easy to be generous with OUR money.

This is a conservative forum. It was my understanding that we view taxes as a bad thing. I take it that people who use legal means to pay less taxes are "cheap". Well, count me in as cheap!

Additionally, I never saw where Bono called for any tax hikes to pay for the foreign aid. He just suggested the government of Ireland do more to help. Do you have any idea how much of his personal money Bono has donated? If you don't why are you criticizing him? What have YOU done?

Shame when people have to trash the rich to feel better about themselves. Common, though.

Agreed - Bono I am sure gives more to charity than anyone criticizing him. Only whack jobs equate taxes with charity.

"Principle Management, U2's management company, declined to comment when
Bloomberg asked for a statement from Bono."

That says it all; the professional publicists didn't see anyway to
put enough lipstick on the pig.

Bono should fire all his publicists and just say "I need money to jet-set
and meet with leaders to convince them to tap their national treasuries in
order to save self-destructive hellhole countries".
That's the sort of cador I would respect.

More commentary on tax-efficiency Bono appears here:

Bon0 could deal with this if he released information showing he's quietly been giving 20% of his annual earning to charity for the last 10-20 years. Perhaps he has. I wouldn't put it past him.

But short of that he's a major hypocrite, scheming (same as any Hollywood liberal) to evade/avoid taxes

Bon0 and U2 learned this Netherlands tax avoidance/evasion scheme from the Rolling Stones who have been domiciled there for 25+ years

I don't understand your point and you haven't a clue what I've given or give now to charity. He's an advocate of governments spending taxpayer money on his social causes yet he does everything he can to avoid paying taxes to support said programs. 'Nuff said.
