Liberal MP Belinda Stronach is asking Peter MacKay to say he's sorry.

She rose in the House of Commons on a point of order after Friday's Question Period.

Stronach told the speaker that MacKay's alleged reference to her as a dog in the House on Thursday was a sexist attack that puts a chill on women's desire to enter politics.

MacKay denies making the comment. The Speaker of the House also says the printed record of the Commons debates did not contain the alleged insult and his staff could not hear the the "dog" comment on an audio tape of proceedings.

Ottawa-South Liberal MP David McGuinty wants the audio tape of yesterday's Question Period sent for expert analysis.

Speaker Peter Milliken dismissed the request.
