MURTHA DECLARES BUSH A 'FAILED PRESIDENT;' IREY SUGGESTS HE LOOK IN A MIRROR IF HE WANTS TO SEE POLITICAL 'FAILURE'

(MONONGAHELA, October 20) -- Washington County Commissioner and Pennsylvania 12th district Republican Congressional nominee Diana Irey -- responding to Jack Murtha's declaration in a teleconference press conference earlier today that President George W. Bush is a "failed President" and his is a "failed presidency" -- today released this statement:

"Once again, Jack Murtha has proven that shooting from the lip is a recipe for disaster. Earlier today, on a teleconference press conference with U.S. Rep. Ike Skelton and U.S. Rep. Tom Lantos, Jack Murtha declared that George W. Bush is a 'failed President,' and declared that his is a 'failed presidency.' This just goes to show how far out of touch Jack Murtha really is.

"Perhaps if Jack Murtha actually spent some time looking at what's going on around him, rather than spending all his time ducking a debate with me so he can campaign for pro-choice, pro-gun-control liberal Democratic candidates, he would know better.

"The stock market just broke through the 12,000 mark on the Dow Jones for the first time in history. That's a 12 percent gain just this year alone. Thanks to the tax cuts championed by President Bush, total household net worth is up by a stunning $14 TRILLION, and shareholder net worth has increased by almost $6 TRILLION since the May 2003 tax cuts.

"More people are working in this country than ever before, and homeownership is at its highest level ever. Taxes are down, and incomes are up. That means families have more time to spend together.

"On the national security front, it is President Bush's administration that has prevented another attack on the American homeland for more than five years -- despite what we know of several attempts by al Qaeda to do just that. It is President Bush's administration that pushed for new tools for our intelligence and law enforcement communities -- tools like the USA PATRIOT Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the NSA terrorist surveillance program - that have worked to prevent the terrorists from succeeding in attacking the American homeland again.

"But perhaps Jack Murtha doesn't want to talk about those things, because he voted AGAINST them: Against the tax cuts. Against the extension of the USA PATRIOT Act. Against the Military Commissions Act.

"Perhaps Jack Murtha should look in a mirror the next time he wants to discuss 'failure' in politics."

"Why the people of the commonwealth would re-elect this idiot is beyond me. "

The polls show ONLY 16% approve of the job congress is doing. But I think it was 70% approve of the job their own congresscritter is doing. Figure that one out.

"state is largly democratic"---his district is largely rural and small town, etc."----

reminds me of the movie Dumb and Dumber if these people are so ignorant of what is happening to their country under 'scum RATS' like Murtha----I live in Penna (12 yr transplant) and am a senior as well but most certainly would never vote Rat under any circumstance--Go Irey!!

FatNotLazy leaves out two important points about the 12th district.

1.The district has 2 registered Democrats for every 1 registered Republican.

2.In 2004 the district gave 51% of it's vote to John Kery and 49% to George Bush.

You would think Kerry should have gotten 60+%, but these Democrats don't think that way.

A lot of Democrats saw weakness in Kerry and strength in Bush.

The Democrats in this district are not your run of the mill Nancy Pelosi types. They like toughness, not whining. Many of them remember Truman.Today they see weakness in Murtha, and they see toughness in Irey.

You ALL can see Murtha's name in the 1994 GAO Air Defense Report in the first link below. Next time you see him hammer Murtha with it and just watch him squirm!!!!

Below is exacting proof why the democRATS cannot be trusted with the Defense of the U.S.A.!!!! The link below is to a 1994 GAO Report that subsequently allowed the democRATS to reduce our Air Defense sites to just 7 before the attacks on 09/11/01. Atlantic City is one of the alert sites that was cut by the Dems prior to 09/11/01. distance to New York from Atlantic City is very minimal by air. If alert forces would have still been there in place on 09/11/01, it might have made a difference!!!! Post 09/11/01, President Bush re-authorised alert at Atlantic City and other places around the Country still part of Operation Noble Eagle.

http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/GOVPUBS/gao/gao19.htm

The above 1994 Air Defense GAO report is not mentioned in the 09/11/01 Commission's Report(They hid it under the rug)!!!!:-(

Many of the democrats mentioned in the 1994 Air Defense GAO report are listed in the democratic Socialists of America's "Progressive Caucas" listed members in Congress are in this link:

http://www.tysknews.com/Depts/gov_philosophy/dsa_members.htm

from this search:

http://www.dsausa.org/

Nancy Pelosi's organization!!!!

These people tore our defenses down in late 1994!!!!
We CANNOT allow them to win the House and the Senate, this Election Cycle allowing them to tear down our defenses again!!!!

We Must VOTE these Democrats and Indepedants out of Office!!!!

There is a Germany story that goes like this:

There was a Captain of a ship who was very strict.
Everything must be exact, all orders followed to the letter. All sailors "spic and span".

One day, the Lieutenant, on his day off took out a bottle and drank a bit. After a few more snips he was tipsy. The Captain came by, knocked on his door and smelling the booze, became angry. The Captain wrote in the log that the Lieutenant was "drunk" on that date.

The Lieutenant had watch the following day and read the logbook. He saw the entry and became angry. This entry could ruin his career. He spoke with the Captain and the Captain said it was in the log book and the log book cannot be changed.

Sitting there that night the Lieutenant suddenly had an idea. He made an entry into the log book, knowing it could not be changed.

During the day the Captain was reading the log book and came across the following entry: "Today the Captain was sober!"

Irey needs to remind the voters when Murtha is sober.
