It isn't only insulting, it's inaccurate - the services are turning people away and educational standards have never been higher. If Kerry wants to recall a military that had a bunch of mental defectives foisted on it by a government that treated it like a holding facility for future felons, he ought to remember how it was when he was in. I certainly do. Any other vets out there remember McNamara's Cat IV's?
So the mask slips, and underneath Kerry's carefully assumed regard for the troops is a hateful, contemptuous elitist who thinks of the military as a penalty, not an honor. The men and women in it might beg to differ. God bless them all, and Kerry can kiss my DD214. It's in my hip pocket.

Amen, brother.
I know a number of people currently serving in our armed forces. They are, without exception, bright, committed, well-educated, capable, patriotic and sane. None of these qualities can be attributed to Mr. Kerry and his ilk.
