I am waiting in line, faint from the overwhelming stench of Petuli and self-righteousness ...typso ping. I'm fond of Petuli, myself; I bought some soap recently.

I can't believe I have found another Richard Thompson fan on the board!! He is brilliant...brilliant...brilliant. I saw him about three years ago in concert. I went backstage to meet him (Onyx, I pinged you out of respect. Maybe I should just go ahead and put together a name-dropping ping list!) He was very nice. How was the concert you went to????

Petuli soap? That's what you call killing two birds with one stone.

I cheerfully await the day when Liberals realize that all their dreams that were withing reach have been dashed upon the hard rocks of reality.
Good article, I have no idea who this artist is though.

It would probably be a terrible conflict for the Great Unwashed, though ... to be clean *and* smelling of Petuli.
(I have the soap in my scarf drawer until I'm ready to use it, so I waft the scent through the air as I go ...)

Amazing...and I happen to love the opening act, Amy Correa.
He played such a wide variety and was spot on. I am slowing getting my husband on board as a fan. I confess that after almost 20 years of devoted RT fervor, I am a bit more over the top than most.
As for RT fans....I used to belong to a great list-net group of fans. During the election of 2000, it became so political and ugly I had to withdraw. They assumed that all RT fans are lefties and spewed such venom.

If I remember correctly, he does a song about Madonna??? Did he sing a song he wrote that pokes fun at Madonna?

Wafting is good, lol. Makes me think of my mother, spritzing a little Chanel up in the air, and then doing a turn underneath, arms extended, as it falls.

The comedian Lewis Black during one of his standup routines talked about sitting in a restaurant and overhearing someone say; "If it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college."
Black responds by saying that the preceding sentence nearly made his head explode because he just couldn't wrap his head around it.

It is called Madonna's wedding and it pokes fun at her bastard children and Scottish castle wedding.
He also wrote a song with the lyrics "If you are gonna flash a ti**y in someone's face it better be a baby's" after the Janet Jackson thing.
A fav of mine is also I agree with Pat Metheny about Kenny G...very funny.
He has a new song out called Dad...about Bagdad....my ex husband had seen him 3 weeks before I did in NJ and warned me about the topic of the song (he knows that politics at a music show can be a serious buzz kill for me)
It was not as negative as I thought (one Fox news reference and not really that incendiary) and damn if it wasn't a great tune...

I'll be voting R proudly. How did the concert music turn out?
To: Crooked Constituent
See all of the praise above and add this...
In a day when concerts are full of flash and trash...Richard performs solo with nothing but his voice and an acoustic guitar...that takes talent because there is no where to hide.
He is a very intellectual songwriter....dark, powerful, evocative lyrics....but damn funny on stand...light hearted in person, confident and charming.
If I was trapped with one album on a desert island....it would be one of his and I could be happy

Richard performs solo with nothing but his voice and an acoustic guitar He posted on beesweb that he is touring this spring with an electric quartet. I like it better when he hauls our the Ferrington custom and wails. The live DVDs are awesome.
