I'm sorry --- can someone remind me why it was important for Elizabeth Dole to recruit good candidates for the Senate in Florida, W. Virginia, etc. etc. etc.?

They don't call it "Slouching toward Gomorrah" for nothing. We're in the downhill slide toward oblivion because of sexual "freedom".

You knew this would happen.

I actually voted no on this. Not that I dont think it is a good idea, but the costs of all those GPS devices is going to be outrageous.

California judges are a huge problem. You could fire every single one of them and still have to put up with the damage they'd done for the next two or three decades, if not longer

This & other chicanery would make most people resort to anarchy. Not here.

I assume yes. Most propostions include language similar to what was included in Jessica's law:
SEC. 31. Intent Clause

It is the intent of the People of the State of California in enacting this measure to strengthen and improve the laws that punish and control sexual offenders. It is also the intent of the People of the State of California that if any provision in this act conflicts with any other provision of law that provides for a greater penalty or longer period of imprisonment that the latter provision shall apply.

Sec. 32. Severability Clause

If any provision of this act, or part thereof, is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remaining provisions shall not be affected, but shall remain in full force and effect, and to this end the provisions of this act are severable.

Sec. 33. Amendment Clause

The provisions of this act shall not be amended by the Legislature except by a statute passed in each house by rollcall vote entered in the journal, two-thirds of the membership of each house concurring, or by a statute that becomes effective only when approved by the voters. However, the Legislature may amend the provisions of this act to expand the scope of their application or to increase the punishments or penalties provided herein by a statute passed by majority vote of each house thereof.

Thats cool!

It looks like the whole state of CA voted for this. Only a county of perverts and freaks would ever have voted against it.

Yeah I see it too.....

When you consider the fruitcakes on the left and how sympathetic they are to terrorists, you realize it wouldn't take one moment before they'd be bombing every public opportunity they could find.

As for anarchy, we have a slow burning anarchy going on right now IMO. The left hates this nation with every fiber of their being. It can't turn into Soviet Russia fast enough for them, and if it doesn't, they think destruction is preferable to family values and a smidgen of morals for the masses.

So why isn't Illston's stay a line-item stay?

We will see how much our current and soon-to-be Attorneys General are really committed to upholding the will of the voters...

Apparently isn't keeping Illston from tying the entire thing up.

I just couldnt see any government agency being able to enact GPS devices in the way the bill was written. Law enforcement cant even talk to each other half the time.

I would rather just kill the pedophiles, or put them in Arizona jails.

Interesting point on the ex post facto. However there is significant legal history in this. That history is a domestic violence conviction permanently blocks an individual's ability to own, possess or carry a firearm. This was retro back to the 70's. In fact, the NICS checks done for each firearms purchase, requires police agencies to verify any assault and battery conviction is NOT domestic. I have seen NICS requests that go back to the mid 1960's.
If she throws this out, maybe she will throw out the 'old' domestic violence conviction.

Correct, because the whole law gets 'injunctioned' until the issue is addressed. This will be a 'life-long' challege bill. Each provision, one at a time will be challeged by the ACLU and other such anti-American anti-whatever groups.

Not anarchy. Revolution.

And don't think we aren't far away from it already.

If the founders were here I'm confident they would be preparing for a second one. They would be up in arms - literally.

And meantime the legislature finds a supermajority to whittle some other things down. If it lives it will be a shadow of its original self.
