My grandparents bought their first home in SF, in WWII. My mother was born there, while grandad was at war, on the USS Flint. Later, I went to school on the Presidio of SF, when I was a soldier.

My grandparants purchase of that first house made three generations of our family, financially. I have a picture of it, in my office.

Now, I am not sure if SF is still part of the US.

San Francisco is NOT part of the United States. As far as I am concerned it effectively seceded when the city government ruled to grant "sanctuary" to any military personnel who went AWOL during Gulf War I.
