Not big news. Eight credits of "Nonwestern civilization" requirements at American universities have been pretty standard for at least a quarter of a century, often replacing now-dead western classical philosophy requirements. They're not all Mideast "culture" courses, but they're all far less valuable than the requirements that were eliminated to accommodate politically correct agendae.
