It's an evil culture that does not recognize the special sacred worth of each person.No matter what physical or mental capabilities. Sometimes people opposed to abortion say things like "suppose Einstein was aborted" or some other great person. Every soul is precious and worthy; we're all handicapped in one way or another.

When my son was in utero, it appeared as if he had a cleft lip. I prayed earnestly that God would 'fix this little boy or bring him to us so we could get it done'. When he was born (at normal nine months) he did have a small sort of scar on his upper lip, but no other discernible difference from normal!
In England and some other European nations a child can be killed in utero if a cleft lip is suspected (it's called abortion of a fetus, but we know it's just murdering off the 'undesirables').
It is plain that too many do not think of these little alive pre-born humans as yet human beings worthy of life already up and running.
