Vietnam was so unpopular that Nixon won a landslide over McGovern in 1972.

Yet the media has convinced the public we lost that war, that Lincoln was a democrat, that George Wallace was a Republican, that democrats passed the Civil Rights legislation of the early 60s.

Rarely does the press mention Kennedy's tax cuts, which stimulated the economy, contrary to Keynsian precepts. Apparently Kennedy had studied Friedman, years before Reagan and David Stockman.

Etc.

When the libs & media finish beating up on freedom, capitalism, and religion - then we'll be in big trouble.

What we saw in the "national media" during the run up to the last elections, that is, the steady increase in frequency and intensity of Anti-Bush "coverage", is pure classic propaganda.

In my everyday life I have been astonished to find that any understanding of what "propaganda" means, that is, how and why it works and the "human nature" inferred by these facts. Obviously I should not be suprised by such things as "the educational establishment" certainly will never criticize itself.

Two classic commentators on propaganda, method and effect, are
Bernays and Ellul.

The "American" Left has been well indoctrinated in the modern way of power (through skillful propaganda!) by Noam Chomsky here and here. These are basic Chomsky readings.

To me it is obvious that the Left control of "organs of propaganda" (as the Soviet Union and the current government of China put it) is certain to bring about a Leninist - Stalinist - Maoist regime in the future United States. If we wish to salvage something from the present situation then we can no longer tolerate Left control of education and media.

This, to me, is an utterly true statement of the facts. I wish it were not so.

Press has it backwards. Rise in violence is CAUSED by negative press coverage. The press is being played by these monsters, and the press doesn't care because that's how they make their living - "if it bleeds, it leads"
