PRIME Minister Ehud Olmert warned today that Israel would react if Palestinian militants continued rocket attacks in violation of a Gaza Strip ceasefire.
Mr Olmert, at a meeting with European Union ambassadors, "let it be known that Israel will continue to show restraint for the time being. But if the rocket attacks continue, Israel will react'', spokesman Miri Eisin said.
He said 12 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip had exploded on Israeli territory since the ceasefire took effect on Sunday morning.
"It's miracle that no civilian has been hurt. If it had been the case, the situation would be different,'' the Prime Minister warned, according to his spokesman.
Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip earlier today fired a rocket at the southern Israeli town of Sderot, again violating the fragile ceasefire agreement in Gaza, medical and army sources said.
"We identified a rocket being fired from the Beit Hanun area in northern Gaza and landing near Sderot,'' an army spokesman said.
Medical sources said the rocket hit Sderot's cemetery.
A cell of the radical Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, which is linked to the Fatah party of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, claimed the latest attack and said it targeted the Israeli town of Ashkelon.

React with what, another useless piece of paper? If this is a war of attrition, Israel is losing BADLY, by the way so is America. Kill them or convert us to Islam already, I'm getting so sick of these half-hearted measures against an enemy that says their goal is to kill ALL OF US EVERY DAY. What will it take for us to believe them? Yes, I know AFTER they nuke an American city. So we just have to hope it's not our city, I live too close for comfort to NYC.

Call me a barbarian, but the Middle East would be a better place if Israel flattened the Gaza Strip, stripping it of all life. The Palis (as well as their "Islamist" fellow-travelers) want a war to the death? Fine. Let death be upon their heads.
Agree with you 100% and might I add:
Put a lawyer in charge (Olmert, Clinton) and warnings generally come before action, if any. Put a leader in charge (Netanyahu, Bush) and warnings usually come after action.
