The environmental wackos would have really lost it in WW II, when the coasts were covered with oil slicks from the ships Germans were sinking every day.
The story reads as if the lives of these birds equate to those of humans. I realize that there are many who believe they do (particularly in California)
I disagree...the animal rights whackos believe a seagull is way more valuable than a human life.
