Muslims Seek Prayer Room At Twin Cities Airport
(AP) Minneapolis The seven Muslim men drew a few stares as they laid down their prayer rugs and knelt on the hard rubber floor at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
They might draw less attention, they told airport officials Friday, if they had a separate room in which they could say one of their five daily prayers to Mecca.
"When we pray, we don't want a problem. We don't want what happened last week," said Abdulrehman Hersi, an imam at Darul-Quba mosque in Minneapolis, referring to the group of six Muslim clerics who were removed last week from a US Airways flight in Minneapolis after attracting concern from some passengers.
The group of Somali clerics said they wanted to open better lines of communication with airport officials after both the US Airways incident and a recent flap over Muslim cab drivers who didn't want to pick up passengers carrying alcohol.
"We are users of the airport too, and we don't want to get into a situation where Muslims feel we are being marginalized at the airport," said Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center in St. Paul and the organizer of the demonstration and meeting.

A prayer room, no dogs, no booze, nothing western. Uh, when was the last time Christians demanded a room for themselves and would we have given it to them? HAAAAAA !
Methinks they may be overplaying their hands. But then, they will only back off and try later. They know the Dhimmicrats were elected and will pander for their votes so as to stay in power. *spit*
How about praying to yourself, boys, so as to respect the feelings of your fellow passengers? You could at least pretend that you're good Americans while travelling through the airport...

Government airport. Can't be doing that "endorsement of a particular religion" thing. When will the liberals/ACLU sue to stop this one?...
We should give them lots of rooms - with doors that don't open from the inside. When there are enough to fill the flight, it can be one-way non-stop to Bumfidistan.

You might also draw less attention if you dont pray at airports or on planes. You know perfectly well that you dont need to and that you're only doing this as a form of protest, looking for special priviledges.

There's already a muslim prayer room there. It's even got a couple of water-cooled porcelain chairs, and air blowers to waft prayers (and aromas) to Allah.

Minnesotans will entertain these cretans and do it quite happily. They probably would cheerfully don the orange jumpsuits and bend over for the rusty knife as well.

Actually, there is a chapel at the MSP airport. They could have gone there.
And they were removed from the plane for more than praying.
Put 'em right next to the pork rind stands...

I travel by air quite a bit, my observation: The more liberal a city is the dirtier the bathrooms at the airport. (and the bathrooms at MSP are terrible! ugh!)
