Hillary's Divisive Image is an Obstacle
Dallas Morning News ^ | December 15, 2006 | Carl Leubsdorf

Dallas businessman Dick Collins and his rich Republican friends figure to have a lot of fun with their Web site bashing Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

The site, www.stophernow.com, is dedicated to "rescuing America from the radical ideas of Hillary Clinton." It features anti-Hillary cartoons, jokes and, coming soon, T-shirts and other clothing items. -snip- Unlike other potential 2008 candidates, Mrs. Clinton enters the race with a reputation as a divisive figure that may handicap her efforts to persuade voters she can bring the country together and end more than a decade of partisan acrimony.

"The swift-boating of John Kerry is going to pale compared to what she's going to go through if the Democratic Party is dumb enough to nominate her," stated one caller .

Keep up the good work. The Arkansas Grifters MUST be stopped.

Few people liked Kerry. The Rats are in love with the Clintons and the Drive Bys/MSM will only depict Hillary in positively glowing terms. By the time they are through, you will want to vote her in as President.

Hillary's divisive core values are a bigger obstacle than her image.

Hillary's lack of patriotism, love of socialism, hypocrisy and lack of moral values are her true self. Unfortunately for Hillary, these traits are fairly obvious to just about anybody smarter than a rock.

Asking the American people to wake up and see the Left for what it really is is asking too much of them.

She has manipulated, triangulated, and discombobulated her image, but her values stay rotten to the core.

The American people have NO vision. We just keep running the same old tired people, and things in this country only are getting worse and worse. At some point there has to be a turnaround.

Most Americans have abandonded principles for instant gratification.

When you say there must be a turnabout, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean a return to self reliance? Or do you mean more government intervention?

Well, we could start with just common sense about the people that we put in office.

I was just talking about the elected officials at this point.

And, of course, I think that there should be LESS government intervention, and MORE self reliance.

One of my pet peeves is that most people and the media worship at the altar of voting issues. I believe it far more important to vote on a candidate's philosophy and prnciples. Too many people, knowningly or unknowingly, become swayed by one issue or another and ignore their own broader principles, i.e. the forest or the trees.

How often do you compare your position on any given issue to your basic principles?

One other point I would make is that basing one's decision on "the issue or issues" almost assuredly results in more government intervention and as the current issues fade into history new issues must be created for the next election.

Actually, I agree with you, but there must be a balance between issues, and the candidates principles/philosophy.

Unfortunately for us, there are a lot of rocks out there.

I predict a dhimmicratic bloodbath in the 2008 primaries. The algore, the hildabeast, the Fn-Frenchie, BreckGirl, PlagerizerBoy and Odumbo the Magnificent (just to name a few) are going to engage in an multi-media, multi-dimensional all-against-all Battle of the Titans... and popcorn sales are going to go through the roof.

it is not just Hillary's Divisive Image thatis an Obstacle,

this pig's image is an obstacle in itself....no one wants to have a president with those cankles...the likes of which have not tramped the halls of the white house since taft!!!!

the piaps is devisive on just about every issue....she is demeaning/condescending/no patience for the public/feels she is entitled!!!!

she offers no hope/no positive vision for the middle class...she is the poster child of socialist/communist...that feels she should be ruling by dictate.....

she reminds most of this era of eva peron...both were/are whores but at least peron had charisma/charm/and could connect with the people.....I guess the comparison with the piaps should have ended with being a whore!!!!

What kind of balance? Too many people, i.e. voters, avow that they are conservative but along comes an issue that affects them, either emotionally or otherwise, and without giving a second thought reject their principles for the issue.

Watch, Obama will be the lightening rod and be the dim forerunner until just before the election. He will suddenly develop a real big impediment, like have a Vince Foster, and Hillary will ride to the rescue. No time for questions, No time to evaluate her positions Just vote for "Joan of Arkansas" and save liberalism.

Where is a good witch burning when you need one? /sarc/

FreeRepublic has its work cut out for it.

"The Media" won't do it.

I guess the dixiechick gnat will have to be moved down on our "list." :-)
