I don't have an account there so I'll have to ask some friends on another board.
You are so right, Dianna. Your son was a blessing to you and the many people he touched. His life made a profound difference to those lucky enough to know him. I know you will always miss him, but he is not "gone".....just in a different place. I will continue to pray for you and your sweet family. Bless you all. ((hugs))
Still praying
Dear Dianna,
I'm so very sorry to be late with this, but I only just saw your post on the sidebar. Please except my most sincere condolences on the loss of your dear child. It seems as though, at a time like this, even the most earnest, heartfelt and well meaning words can ring a bit hollow.I do hope that all of the prayers and affection coming your way (especially from this board) can give you and your family some small measure of comfort at this terrible time. My thoughts are with you.
Your Fellow Freeper,
Mila
Sometimes you just don't have answers as to why things like this happen. You just have to believe that God has him in His arms, and he's safe. You will see him again. Prayers for you and your family.
Maybe you can just send a general post out to DU and let them know you saw the post at FR.
Hope you're doing okay, Dianna. I think of you often.

You & your family are in my prayers Dianna.
I am glad to read your update, to feel you are being taken care of. May God continue to bless and comfort you and your family.
(((HUGS)))
Dianna,
I have a friend who just lost a son in Iraq yesterday. I wrote a poem for her. Hopefully, this will bring you some peace and solace too.
On our knees, we ask
Lord why do we bury a son?
Burdensome our task
When we are nearly done.
Life doesn't give
We have to take those joys as they come
Whatever time we have to live
Our worldly time we give some
When it's over we'll meet
In a painless embrace
The new life as we greet
And the joy on your painless face
For now, I'll mourn
Life is too short to give in
My heart will not always be torn
Soon we will be together again
My heart weaps for you. My prayer for you and your family.
Far from the ones you love,
No hand to left or right
and emptiness above,
Know that you aren't alone,
The whole world shares you tears
Some for two nights or one
And some for all their years.
just a bump by with a thought and a prayer
God comfort you and your good family.
Our prayers are with you and your dear family.
How many of us have learned of your beautiful son Derrick, and been able to share in his life because of the prayers shared here! Out of the ashes, you have raised a message of hope and healing. There are people around the world who have been blessed by a boy they have never met - because you shared your love and his life with us.
To read the prayers of so many who have walked this lonely path truly proves that we are not alone in our grief; even in our darkest moment, God is there, embodied in the embrace of those who walk with us. We are not alone.
Hugs and love from us to you. You are a blessing to so many of us, and your son has blessed us through you...
Thank you.
Prayers for you and the family continuing.
How are you all doing?
