question for anyone.. do they ever eat those gingerbread houses? I know they are for show but I also understand they "keep well".. wondering if when decor goes down, there is a little gingerbread party????

They are for display only I came across this when preparing the dose this afternoon/evening it was a question asked by a reporter to Laura Bush one year.
Though for display they are made of all edible ingredients but I suppose after being on display for about a month they would be dusty and not really suitable for consumption. Plus also I wonder if they spray them with a coating to protect them that is not suitable to eat.

I don't know about the White House, but we always eat our gingerbread houses, after Epiphany. Of course, ours aren't quite that fancy.
