"Fair and balanced in academia?"
It's the school board that is trying to be fair. They are not professional educators, so they lack the same standards as the pros have.
You know -- the standards of prostitutes: pros.

Any reasonable person in academia has to be offended by the way the Green-Weenies are attempting to stifle all opposition to their created "truth" by comparing people with legitimate differences of opinion with Holocaust deniers.

The counter-view wouldnt have to be given at the same time the movie is shown or be as long as the movie, Murphy said.
the school board has decided the opposing view will be held at 3 a.m. saturday on the 2nd tuesday of next week at an undisclosed location..parents and children should make arrangments to be there..

We have to ensure that our schools are not being used to politically indoctrinate anyone, said board member Dave Larson..."...Besides we are looking at expanding the 'condoms at school' program, extending Black History Month to 12 weeks, and exploring the 'Myth of the Holocaust.' There just simply isn't enough room for Al Gore."

"One is by journalist and author John Stossel, who writes that many scientists laugh at doomsday predictions by Gore and other environmentalists. Some scientists, Stossel writes, say the result of global warming may be benign."
Who wants to listen to a bunch of boring scientists?

They showed this at "movie night" at my 2nd favorite neighborhood church. At the end of mass, the priest urged us to attend saying it would change our lives. I now only attend my 1st favorite parish.

Here's a candidate to present an opposing view -
Professor Bob Carter comments on Al Gore and his hysterical fairytale titled An Inconvenient Truth.
The man is an embarrassment to US science and its many fine practitioners, a lot of whom know (but feel unable to state publicly) that his propaganda crusade is mostly based on junk science, says Cook, from the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University, in Australia.
Gores circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic. It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention.

My friends Ed Barney and Dave Larson are savoring this opportunity to end the use of Gore's stupid indoctrination film. This initiative began with the letter from one alert parent to Tom Murphy. Thankfully, the Federal Way School District is in good hands from the School Board to the Superintendent.

Good for FedWay.... I didn't expect that would take that position.
