Ron Paul’s message in the WOT is one of isolationism. For the current situation in Iraq, his message comes across as defeatist

Ron Paul's message on foreign policy in general is non-interventionist...had the US government still been guided by that policy after WWII as it was before WWII, we the American people may well have avoided a lot of the costs and tragedies we've incurred. I don't understand the criticism of a non-interventionist American foreign policy...it served American interests well throughout most of our history and, in my opinion, the interventionist policies the US government has pursued since WWII have cost us greatly

"I don't understand the criticism of a non-interventionist American foreign policy."

Non-interventionist policy has lost its luster because of nuclear weapons and biological weapons of mass destruction post WWII together with the rise of well-funded terrorist groups. Non-intervention was reasonable policy when the threat was tolerable, survivable and more easily repelled, and our mortal enemies were governments of nations and military under their control.

Given the nuclear/bio weapons of today, an intolerable threat is not easily defended against, and our mortal enemies are not ones under control of any government or any nation. A nuclear or bio weapon deployed by a rogue group of fanatics at a critical time and location in the U.S. can collapse the economy and social order in weeks and in turn cripple the interconnected economies of other democracies in the world. The military strength and ability to defend the U.S. inevitably arise from the economy.

Some radical, rogue groups only learn by real, tangible demonstrations of intervention where their acts of aggression cost their cause far more than it gains.

If Al Qaeda sees that when they destroy one of our occupied buildings in the U.S. we take one of their countries in the Middle East it’s a lesson they don’t soon forget. It’s better that terrorists learn this lesson now, in lesser responses from us, before they come to believe a nuclear/bio attack on the U.S. is a winning strategy for them. It will alter their future plans and the plans of other terrorist groups and enemy nations. Like a burglar casing homes to rob in a neighborhood, our enemies will look for an easier target to hit.

Projection of power and use of brute force in disproportionate foreign interventions are the only things these savages understand.

Don't worry about it. Paul will not even be able to be in the same building during the primaries since he is not a globalist but a patriot.

He is for freeing gay marriage, no federal protection for the unborn

Not exactly true. He voted for the partial birth abortion ban, though he did acknowledge that by doing so, he was adopting the arguments of both the pro-abortion crowd and the "living document" constitutional theorists. Have a look.

"The boss puts employee A on a project and employee B tells other employees: "Employee A is the nicest, most generous, most industrious, most honest guy you could ever hope to meet. But there's no way he can ever do that project. He just can't hack it - and I love the guy - but all the hard work he's done is for nothing. He's just the boss's dupe, that's all."

I consider employee B a backstabber - no matter how much he sings employee A's praises and compliments him. He is denigrating A's ability to accomplish the project in front of everyone."

When the Boss sets Employee A up for failure, and Employee A is injuring himself performing the job while gaining nothing for himself nor the company (yet actually helping the opposition company to gain funds and support) I'd say it's Employee B's duty to speak up about it. I'd bet you would agree, if The Boss didn't go to your college. Like the last Boss, who was banging his secretary. You hated him. Even though he ran the place basically the same way, he just didn't have as many spelling errors on the memos as The New Boss. Had enough of the office talk?

Good. We've had enough of fake conservatism. Remember, you're a citizen of your state first, American second, conservative third(I hope deep down inside you've still got a bit of it left), and Republican fourth.

I see - much like Marion Barry's line of thinking, you believe America's fighting forces were "set up" and that they are somehow destined to fail, and that the President conspired against them.

So, you're another backstabbing pansy, and a conspiracy theorist to boot.

There is nothing America's fighting forces cannot accomplish.

Nothing.

Cowardly defeatists like you are a dime a dozen.

. Remember, you're a citizen of your state first, American second, conservative third

Candyasses like you don't tell me what I am.

Crawl back in your hole and quit tarnishing the name of Paul Revere.

The corrupt Democrats won't need illegal aliens or even dead people to vote against conservative candidates: they have the convenience of hidden vote-rigging afforded them by the electronic 'voting' systems.

Les Paul did a great version of "Spanish Eyes" with Al DiMeola.
