Obama is not the descendant of slaves, of slave owners perhaps.

Now that Barak Obama, an African-American, has thrown his hat into the Presidential ring, he has come under fire from "African-Americans" for not being African-American!

Other than color, Obama did not - does not - share a heritage with the majority of black Americans, who are descendants of plantation slaves. I'd go even farther and ask what does Obama share with the American heritage in general? He grew up in Indonesia. Sure he went to Harvard Law. His first book is about his father's dreams. As a Kenyan I doubt he had dreams for America!

IN addition to the "Obama isn't black enough angle", the article does hint at one of the Dem strategies in getting Obama out there as a candidate.
By mentioning Alan Keyes, the article paves the way for claims that the Republicans are just "running a black because the Dems are" if Condi Rice does end up running.

He sounds good. A fine speaker and better enunciation than even some professional talkshow hosts. No accent whatsoever. It is a fine talent and a well-trained skill. Can't say if he is a leader or not, or a deep thinker, or has a clue how to keep the American dream going.

...he has come under fire from African Americans for being not black enough Hey! He's as black as Halle Berry. And we all know how definitively African American she is.
If you don't believe it, just ask her.

The son of a white woman and a Black immigrant? Well, I guess his father could have been considered an immigrant, but I'm not sure that people that are here on temporary student visas are exactly immigrants. His father was a visitor, who happened to get married while he visited, but he never planned to stay.
I want to see some pictures of Obama's mama.

Obama was not raised as a victim. He never internalized the Jackson/Sharpton slave reparations mentality. They fear Obama might not be black-centric enough.

He is a Kenyan-Caucasion-American
Africian-American-American?

I ask again, why is it that a person born to one black parent and one white parent is always black? Who makes that decisions. "Yes, doctor, I want to designate my child as male and of a race to be determined at a later date."

"Keyes was the black Republican carpetbagger chosen by the elephants ..."
Can we now expect Stanly Crouch to call Hillary "the white Democrat carpetbagger chosen by the donkeys ..."
No; by labeling Obama "inauthentic," he's shilling for Hillary in this article - plain and simple.

Obama should send this letter to all major newspapers...

Even slavery itself initially came under fire from white Christians - the first of whom to separate themselves from the institution were Quakers. The majority of the Union troops were white, and so were those who have brought about the most important civil rights legislation.True, and worth remembering.
I doubt Obama will share Powell's fate, but if he throws his hat in the ring, he will have to run as the son of a white woman and an African immigrant.
More likely, he'll run as himself. A politician may be Black or White or Catholic or Protestant or Jewish, but if he's worth anything he doesn't "run as" his heritage or ethnicity.
If we then end up with him as our first black President, he will have come into the White House through a side door - which might, at this point, be the only one that's open.
That's an interesting turn of phrase. Given Obama's lack of experience, the "side door" that gets him into the White House may be his color.
But take it as Stanley intends it to be taken -- that Obama isn't "really Black." That's par for a lot of these firsts: J.F. Kennedy wasn't "really" Catholic, etc.
But there's a thin line between "authenticity" and stereotypes. What some will experience as "really" this or that, strikes others as way over the top.

nor has he lived the life of a black American. I usually love Stanley. This is out-and-out black racism at its ugliest.
