  • FOX News reported that Iran plans three days of military maneuvers, including short-range missile tests, beginning Sunday.

 

Iran president defies UN sanction resolutions

  • Reuters reported that Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that U.N. Security Council resolutions against Tehran would not affect Iran's nuclear policies even if 10 more of them were passed.

 

Iraqi Police Detain 3 Iranians in Mosul

  • Yahoo News reported that Iraqi police detained three Iranians who were found without documentation in the northern city of Mosul.

 

Rice: More Iran Sanctions May Come

  • Gulf News reported that Condoleezza Rice said companies should beware of doing business with Iran and think about the possibility of more sanctions. "I think people ought to think about the risk of doing business with Iran," Rice said.

 

Iran Region's 'Black Sheep'

  • The Arab Times argued that Gulf countries have come to the conclusion that Iran has become an uncontrollable power which can harm not only itself but also its neighbors.

  • The Telegraph reported that Liam Fox, the shadow defense secretary, said a "carrot and stick" approach was needed to warn Iran of the consequences of such action, but also to reward it if it pulled back.
  • Kuwait News Agency reported that Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani arrived Sunday in Damascus where he would meet with a number of senior Syrian officials including President Bashar Al-Assad.
  • Sunday Telegraph reported on the change in Ahmadinejad's fortunes inside of Iran.

Well, after all, he is simply stating a fact. U.N. Security Council resolutions don't mean a damn thing. It's enforcing them that means something, and that's not something that anyone but the U.S. is likely to do. Just ask the residents of Darfur.

Excuse my ignorance, and lack of reading enough.... are these the new missles systems they got from Russia?

Is it to early to say the Cold War is back? Was it ever really over?

The military maneuver, which would test the short-range Zalzal and Fajr-5 missiles, was set to begin Sunday, the broadcast said. It could not immediately be confirmed if the missile tests began..."
