Bengals receiver questioned in Miami man's death
The Pittsburgh Tribune Review ^ | February 2, 2007 | The Associated Press

MIAMI (AP) -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson was questioned by Miami police regarding an investigation into the shooting death of a man. Johnson, a Miami native, spoke with detectives Monday at police headquarters, according to The Miami Herald.

"Chad has confirmed to the club that he cooperated with the Miami Police earlier this week as part of an investigation," the team said in a statement released Friday to The Associated Press. "Police have characterized this as a routine procedure and have stressed that Chad is not a suspect or even a person of interest in this case."

Authorities have not said why Johnson was questioned or what connection he may have had in the death of Curtis Tavares Dopson last Friday.

The 27-year-old Dopson was shot near the doorway of a duplex he moved into about four months ago, the newspaper said. No arrests have been made.

The Bengals are just unbelievable right now. How much longer until ownership says enough?

Cripes! Another Bengals player in trouble?

Vikings and Raiders players are gonna have to start acting up again so they can reclaim attention to themselves.

I hope this is just a case where they're doing some questioning to cover all the bases. I'm a Cowboys fan, so I don't really care about the Bengals, but Chad Johnson is one of the most colorful and entertaining players in the league now.

Free ocho cinco!

Yet the Cowboys still have that reputations despite the fact that no one can point to a current Cowboy who has been charged with a felony or is under the threat of indictment.

"Here's the stat sheet you asked for to do the fantasy league draft, Tom."

"Stat sheet, Bob? I asked for the rap sheet. The Bengals are in my division!"

Ocho-cinco is a lowlife. He was on the NFL network's Cheerleader comp and dance judge. He basically insulted to Charger girls (One girl looked like she wanted to slap him) after he said their dance routine mad ehe him think he was at a "club".

Chad Johnson was questioned by Miami police because he had known the victim since his early teens, and attended HS with him. Apparently Chad had seen him recently and the police are interested in talking to anyone who might have some idea as to what motive, or better yet, what person might have been responsible for the murder. In the case of an unsolved murder like this the police cast a wide net looking for possible clues. Chad is not a suspect nor a person of interest in the case, except for the fact he might be able to shed some light on the murder because he knew the victim.

Lewis finally "putting his foot down" a couple of weeks ago did a lot of good, huh.

It's kinda embarrassing to see what little control Marvin Lewis has over this football. They show him absolutely zero respect.

It's not even a story. The police talk to a lot of people in their investigations. Heck, when my garage was burglarized, they even talked to me.

(They eventually caught the guy and all my stuff was returned.)

Switching gears a bit, can someone tell me why Tank Johnson of the Bears is being persecuted in the media, when all he seems to have been "guilty" of is having "too many" guns in his home?

As much as I hate the Bengals (life long hated, despite growing up in Cincinnati), I have to say a good word for CJ. Ocho is perceived as one of the good guys on the team, and makes certain to keep out of the pitfalls of his teammates, at least while the season is going on. Until now, he had no association with the rest of the Bengal Thug Nation.

Go Colts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
