Some things to remember: the PFLP was originally called "Black September" (anyone know any major terror events occurring in that month?), the PFLP was trained and funded by the Soviet Union (including Carlos the Jackal), and the PFLP gleefully recruits orthodox jihadists for suicide missions despite the PFLP being an athiestic, communist front.
The PFLP was also one of Saddam Hussein’s favorite “charities.”
1980s early : (”MAY 15” [see PLFP] TERRORIST MOHAMMED RASHED AND HIS ACCOMPLICES ABU IBRAHIM & CHRISTINE PINTER ARE GIVEN SAFE HAVEN IN IRAQ; FROM BAGHDAD THEY LAUNCH MULTIPLE BOMBING OPERATIONS THROUGHOUT EUROPE) Rashed and his accomplices were given a safe haven in Iraq in the early 1980s by Saddam Husseins regime. They launched multiple bombing operations out of Baghdad throughout Europe and, in this case [in Aug. 11, 1982], on the American-owned passenger airplane [Pan Am Flight 830] bound for the United States.————— “Jordanian Man Sentenced In 1982 Bombing Of Pan Am Flight From Tokyo To Honolulu,” FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 2006, WW.USDOJ.GOV
Their operatives were also trained in S. Yemen by Cuban and E. German instructors.
There was a PFLP cell in Los Angeles as well: the LA Eight.
1987 : (LA EIGHT ARE ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED ASSOCIATIONS WITH THE PLFP) The case of the “L.A. eight” goes back to 1987, when [Aiad] Barakat, six other Palestinians and a Kenyan were arrested for alleged associations with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a radical offshoot of the Palestine Liberation Organization. The PFLP has opposed peace negotiations between the PLO and Israel, and the U.S. government considers it a terrorist organization. All eight have denied being members.-—— “Federal judge in LA rules Palestinian man should be citizen - Aiad Barakat of the ‘L.A. eight’” AP via Riverside Press Enterprise ^ | 6/23/06 | - Los Angeles
