Glenn Beck represents a truly troubling trend in television journalism. Since May 2006, the radio talk show host has had his own one hour nightly programme on CNN's Headline News channel. While the network may have hoped that Beck's flamboyant style would increase ratings, the cost to their integrity has been staggering.
...
'Evil 10 per cent'
In just the past two months, for example, one half of Beck's shows have focused on matters Muslim. Beck insists that he is not opposed to all Muslims, only what he refers to as the "10 per cent who are evil". He then counters this observation by stating that the vast majority of good Muslims have been cowered into silence by the extremist 10 per cent, so that they too stand indicted by their cowardice. Only when they do speak out, Beck says, will radical Islam be defeated and the rest of us be safe from their scourge. The net result of this circumlocution is that the majority of Muslims are to blame.
When Beck is not venting his own prejudiced view of Islam, he invites on-air guests who amplify his views. They are of three types: Israelis, right-wing Americans with a long-established axe to grind against Arabs and Muslims, and lastly, a handful of Muslims who are largely alienated and self-styled outcasts who have found their shtick striking out against their co-religionists. ...

At the end of the article:
Dr James Zogby is the president of the Arab American Institute in Washington, D.C.
If we look to journalists for guidance, we aren't going to make it through this at all. What we NEED are leaders, like Winston Churchill, who clearly recognize the threats we face, and the urgent need for action.
Zogby and his leftist fellow travelers hate the idea that someone . . . ANYONE . . . won't join in their muslim appeasement crusade.
Glen Beck is the only reason CNN has any ratings at all. He is the ONLY thing I watch on CNN, I even mute the commercials because they sneak in a dirty lib short speak now and then.
I just recently "discovered" Glenn Beck. Only reason I can find to ever turn to CNN Headline or otherwise.
I think that 10% is way below the actual mark. (video on Islam)
Watching E.D. Hill's special on Islam yesterday on Fox gave us a chance to view one of America's prominent Imams - he showed us what it is to be frightened about being a "moderate Muslim" - bottom line.....you can't be a moderate Muslim. The warnings are coming from every where and the propaganda about the Jew's is reaching fever pitch. I suggest more cartoons about Muhammad and his merry murderers - beating women killing Islamic teachers for teaching truth - oppressive Islamic Law - just anything that reveals the truth about the cult called Islam.....we can't be silenced or frightened, we know who this enemy is. Stand up to the nuts, twits, and flakes in turbans, robes and stolen U.S. military uniforms. Make non-Politically Correct the America Way! Stop the coming Islamic Holocaust anyway you deem fit.
As I read the article, this kind of thinking is exaclty what Beck is talking about when he cites the reluctance of the "90 percent" to speak out.
"In your face, Zogby and NYT!"
I'm really proud of Glenn Beck. He gets it......and he doesn't forget it!!!
I just sent the following e-mail to James Zogby [his e-mail address is jzogby@aaiusa.org]
Mr. Zogby,
Mr. Beck claims that there exists an "evil 10%" among Muslims and that the other 90% of them need to speak out more forcefully against that group. If you wish to point out how Mr. Beck is wrong in this, why not do so? Instead, you seek to silence him. My understanding is that Mr. Beck would be happy to have you appear on his TV or radio show to explain why he is wrong about this.
From where I sit, based on years of experience and some modest amount of study, I would say that Mr. Beck's thesis is right on the money. The silence of world Muslims with respect to what can only be called the bloodthirsty totalitarianism of radical Islam is astounding to me and to many other thoughtful citizens and scholars. When some Christians preach hate, there are entire movements of others who speak out in resistance. There are vocal organizations of Jews who criticize the actions of the Israeli government. But when moderate Muslims speak out against the extremists, they risk their very lives.
Instead of seeking to silence Mr. Beck's view, which I believe is growing across this country, it would serve you well to respond in an intellectually honest fashion.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
one simply has to watch Zogby on Link TV to understand his agenda.
The Blame America First Crowd.
They only scream when the truth hurts.
"Beck has a warning for Muslims "who have sat on [their] frickin' hands" and have not "lin[ed] up to shoot the bad Muslims in the head"
Dr. James Zogby
Biography
Dr. James J. Zogby is founder and president of the Arab American Institute (AAI), a Washington, D.C.-based organization which serves as the political and policy research arm of the Arab American community. Since 1985, Dr. Zogby and AAI have led Arab American efforts to secure political empowerment in the U.S. Through voter registration, education and mobilization, AAI has moved Arab Americans into the political mainstream.
For the past three decades, Dr. Zogby has been involved in a full range of Arab American issues. A co-founder and chairman of the Palestine Human Rights Campaign in the late 1970s, he later co-founded and served as the Executive Director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. In 1982, he co-founded Save Lebanon, Inc., a private non-profit, humanitarian and non-sectarian relief organization which funds health care for Palestinian and Lebanese victims of war, and other social welfare projects in Lebanon. In 1985, Zogby founded AAI.
Yes, I have to agree, Beck, is telling it the way it is....the facts are difficult for the liberals to accept, mainly because their whole existence is based on illusionary interpretation of reality.....
Zogby has long been on my list of anti-American people to round up and send back to their natal hell holes. His advice to people who don't want Islam to take over our country is to lie back and enjoy it. Of course, his would be one of the first heads to roll, although he envisions himself as one of the Islamic powers that be. His polling is so lame I have come to seriously doubt anyone is actually contacted and asked questions. I think he just makes it all up. Whenever he comes on one of the TV talking head shows, I exercise my right, in a democracy, to change the channel.
Wally and Ed came up in WWII, in which their reports (heavily censored) were tied to Roosevelt and the Allied war effort, which included "Uncle Joe," and the Soviets..
Their "news" was actually based on rather heavy-handed propaganda. They were so rewarded for this approach, that they naturally continued it after the war. The Democrat Party could easily handle the Soviets, just as the holy Roosevelt had. Republicans, whom you will remember, were against early involvement in WWII, were bad people.
From this period onward, journalists felt they must "make a difference," rather than report facts.Just ask one.
