1. Cut Spending.
2. Cut Taxes.
3. Reduce Size and Scope of Government.

In that order.

There is simply no reason that the amount of money spent by the government has to go up, year after year. We have all accepted this as the normal way of things. It need not be so.

In fact, it is entirely achievable for government spending to go down year after year, for quite a long time. Real tax relief will come from real government contraction. Without spending less, all the promises of tax relief are just smoke-and-mirrors.

Except those are not considered the core conservative principles anymore by those who proclaim themselves to be conservatives. Anti-abortion, pro-marriage amendment, interventionist foreign policy, prayer in schools, teaching creationism, all are trumpeted ahead of smaller government and lower spending.
