Sorry, it's a no win for the base. If we motivate, and elect Democrat-lite, the message to the Republicans is that we want Democrat-lite. And we will be fed a steady diet of Democrat-lite.
So, we just have to hope that the Democrats don't completely destroy the country while the Republicans regroup and figure out that most Americans are conservative and want conservative candidates.
That's delusional. Most Americans are not conservative, they are "moderate". Moderate meaning they don't have strong opinions on any issue. If most Americans were conservative, then conservatives would be elected over and over again.
