Have you ever watched a book-based TV segment in which the hosts never pronounced the book's name? Fox & Friends Weekend pulled off the feat this morning -- presumably because the cookbook in question had a title a bit too spicy for Fox's taste.
With Valentine's Day looming, Martha Hopkins was in to suggest some sensual dishes to share with one's sweetie. Her claim to expertise? She is co-author of a book entitled . . . "Inter Courses: An Aphrodisiac Cookbook." Hopkins treated the Fox hosts to two of her recipes: artichoke hearts and strawberries and whipped cream.
But while the camera flashed on her book sitting on the buffet, items were artfully arranged to obscure its full title. I'm providing a larger-than-normal screencap so readers can see the careful camouflaging. The book title once appeared briefly at the bottom of the screen, and a full image of the book was flashed at the end of the segment. But the two Fox hosts, Kelly Wright and Brigitte Quinn, managed to avoid ever mentioning its title. Even the story on the segment at FNC's website dared not speak the book's name.
At the end of the segment, Brigitte congratulated Hopkins "on the 10th anniversary of your cookbook." But rather than referring to it by its title, "Inter Courses", Quinn mentioned only its sub-title: "the Aphrodisiac Cookbook."
So, good "taste" by Fox . . . or a bit of pre-Valentine's prudery?

I turned off FoxNews/F&F --- just can't take another day of Nicole Smith, her life, her death, her autopsy, her husband(s), her baby's father(s), her estate......
[clicked over to The Comedy Channel]
So you're denying being the baby's father? ;-)
Have you ever heard of a thing called, "decorum?"
Of course you must think decorum substitutes for prudery?
What's the difference?
I was wondering why they didn't say the title of the cookbook. Thanks!
Thank you! - for confirming what I thought I didn't hear ;-)
He would have to get in line behind me. I am the father.
I did use "prudery" in the ping title, but really did so for the sake of a short-cut and the alliteration. But if you read the article, you'll note that I don't criticize Fox's choice, but merely note it and invite readers to decide for themselves.
Yeah tv really has become a wasteland !!!
By the way, could you please elucidate me on the meaning of "SFW"? Thanks.

Slow news day, I take it. :>)
FYI..."Elucidation"..is only for consenting adults....
"No, I am the father."
I know... I was being sarcastic...
"Slow news day, I take it. :>)"
I suppose so - at least until Obama announces. But I truly was struck by the hosts' failure to mention the book's title: a first in my viewing experience.
