PRIME Minister John Howard has blasted US presidential candidate Barack Obama, saying his policy of withdrawing troops from Iraq will destabilise the entire Middle East.
Senator Obama, who is aiming to be the first black American president, has vowed to withdraw US forces if elected. But first, he must secure the Democratic nomination by overcoming his chief rival, Hillary Clinton.
Senator Obama has introduced a bill to remove US combat forces from Iraq by March 31 next year - but the legislation has virtually no chance of becoming law while George W Bush is president, and the presidential election is not until November 2008.
In a strongly worded foray into US politics today, Mr Howard said an Obama victory in the presidential election would be disastrous for the war on terrorism.
"I think he's wrong. I think that will just encourage those who want to completely destabilise and destroy Iraq, and create chaos and a victory for the terrorists to hang on and hope for an Obama victory," Mr Howard said on Channel 9.
"If I were running al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and be praying as many times as possible for a victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats."

I think that the Prime Minister is on to something.
One Muslim site associated with CAIR that I visited suggested that perhaps Obama will go back to his roots, "once and if he becomes the President." Allah is the Master of all things, they said. Even if he doesn't become President they welcome him as is.
Looks like my browser garbled the text. Shouldn't it be: "If I were running al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around November 2008 and be paying as much as possible for a victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats."
Imagine! The entire muslim world hoping that Barack Hussein Obama (Muslim Marxist) gets elected President! What a shock. The left wing media will do everything it can to help this 5th columnist get elected. The enemy is among us.

That's an interesting point. Why hasn't he been targeted as someone that has turned their back on Islam? Unless he really hasn't turned his back on Islam. Reminds me of Battlestar Galactica with the Cylons. "They have a plan."
Maybe they are on to something. I just heard an audio of Obama claiming that he's not just out to win, he's out to "transform" America.

Rats are always ready to "reform" things and make America "better" but transform?
There's the 1960s New Left's "America, fix it or forget it" and their Rat Party's (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) countless repetitious campaigns to "fix" education, etc. etc. etc. But transform?
Or is it simply that Obama is saying that we've become so bad that we're beyond reform?

Yeah, I just don't get it. Does the lack of condemnation mean that Salman Rushdie, et al done been unfatwaed? Radical Islam is now a kinder, gentler religion?
Al Qaeda and all Islamo-fascists pray constantly for victory for Democrats, fellow socialists, and similar weasels in the civilized world. It's the only thing that would actually give the terrorists real hope of victory....
