Hillary Rodham Clinton To Visit L.A. Thursday

(CBS) LOS ANGELES -- Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will visit Los Angeles Thursday to conduct a series of fund-raisers for her presidential campaign, one day after a former ally's criticism sparked a dispute between her campaign and that of Senator Barack Obama.

DreamWorks SKG co-founder David Geffen made sharply critical remarks about Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.

"Everybody in politics lies, but they do it with such ease, it's troubling," Geffen said.

Geffen's comments prompted the Clinton campaign to issue a statement calling for the Obama campaign to return the money it received through Geffen's fund-raising efforts.

Geffen and his DreamWorks SKG co-founders -- Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg -- hosted a reception Tuesday at the Beverly Hilton that raised $1.3 million to the Obama campaign.

"If Senator Obama is indeed sincere about his repeated claims to change the tone of our politics, he should immediately denounce these remarks, remove Mr. Geffen from his campaign and return his money," Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson said.

Geffen stated that he has no formal role with the Obama campaign. He added that his comments were quoted accurately and "reflect solely my personal beliefs regarding the Clintons."

The Obama campaign said, "We aren't going to get in the middle of a disagreement between the Clintons and someone who was once of their biggest supporters. It is ironic that the Clintons had no problem with David Geffen when he was raising them $18 million and sleeping at their invitation in the Lincoln Bedroom."

At a candidates' forum in Nevada, Clinton said, "I want to run a very positive campaign, and I sure don't want Democrats of the supporters of Democrats to be engaging in the politics of personal destruction."

Geffen split with the Clintons in 2001 after Clinton pardoned fugitive financier Marc Rich and declined Geffen's request to give one to American Indian activist Leonard Peltier, convicted in 1975 of killing two FBI agents, but whom supporters say was wrongly convicted.

"Marc Rich getting pardoned?" Geffen told Dowd. "An oil-profiteer expatriate who left the country rather than pay taxes of face justice? Yet another time when the Clintons were unwilling to stand for the things that they genuinely believe in."

Variety.com reported that Hillary Clinton will attend a morning reception hosted by billionaire investor Ron Burkle, a longtime friend and supporter of former President Bill Clinton. A brunch at the Beverly Hills home of billionaire children's television mogul Haim Saban will follow.

Another meeting is planned with agents at the Creative Artists Agency in Century City; a reception at the office of John Emerson, the chairman and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Music Center and deputy assistant to then-President Clinton from 1993-97; a cocktail party at the home of Sim Farar, a U.S. representative to the United Nations during the Clinton administration; and a dinner targeted to the Iranian-American community at the home of Nina Ansary and Ali Saffari.

The Clinton campaign has not confirmed her fund-raising plans.

Many presidential contenders have visited Southern California in the past few days, seeking to maximize their fund-raising in advance of the March 31 quarterly report deadline, a first test of the viability of their candidacies.

Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., conducted a Beverly Hills fund-raiser on Wednesday. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, both Democrats, and Republican former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, conducted Southland fund-raisers last week.

The 2008 presidential campaign will be "the longest and most expensive election in American history," Federal Election Commissioner Michael Toner said recently, adding: "We're heading into the first $1 billion election."

To be competitive, a candidate will need to have raised $100 million by the end of the year, he said.

The upcoming presidential campaign is the first since 1928 in which neither a sitting president nor vice president is seeking the position.

What amazes me is how flat the top of her head is, as if she is missing something, which could explain her behavior.

I read in some art book at some time in my life that women usually have more vertical foreheads while men have more of a slant to theirs.

...I'm just sayin'...

Hers (Britneys) is faaaaar from being vertical. I could say it`s because she`s a guy and has been fooling everyone all this time, but I can`t say that being that she has allowed the paparazzi to photograph her down there and prove that yes she is indeed a female. Her talent and range is endless. Observe her genius...........
