No kidding. In Ohio 80 is a toll road. Paid for itself about 15 years ago. They kept it a toll road to keep the road in a good state of repair. (What? Our taxes can't pay for our roads suddenly?)
About 3 years ago, they wanted to sell management to a private company, and keep it a toll road. We barely stopped that boondoggle.

In all fairness, I don't think there's any more noise about it being temporary. And, I think it has everything to do with NAFTA or CAFTA or whatever they're calling it today.
