"I voted in the 2006 elections. How about you?"

They keep saying this, yet in my state we (GOP) won overwhelmingly, even replacing a Democrat Senator. These numbnuts keep thinking it is a national election rather than 51 individual elections. We are wasting our time with these uneducated buffoons.

It is unfortunate that Rudy continues to kowtow to the abortion lobby.

The rest of it I agree with — like I said, I hate Giuliani.

“(And shhhh... don’t tell anyone, but at the local level in New York, and particulalry in NYC, cross-endorsement is very common.)”

From the looks of Rooty, Cross-Dressing is very common also.

A producer of warts? That I can believe.

Those are good points. I’ve seen the thing come up about cancer before and it was always loudly shouted down by the rudybots. Perhaps in the new atmosphere those kinds of questions can be explored properly.

The thing about keeping the campaign dough is a good solid angle. Napkin User keeps the StopRudy ping list, so I’m copying him on that question.

No kidding. Like the first bombing of the NYC Trade Center? What gave you your first clue to the terrorism threat? 911?
***Crickets? That’s your response, Fred? To the owner of this site? I guess there is no real substantive response we can look forward to. That’s some Strong-on-terrorism candidate ya got there... NOT.

Those aren't warts. Could they be herpes?

I really don’t understand the logic of all these antiGuiliani threads.
***It’s interesting about Rudy: That as can be seen by almost anyone and in his own words, even you would say that it amounts to an antigiuliani thread. I take what he says at face value. I believe what he said in those videos. That simply means he’s not a good choice for America. He would split the socon vote and no one has ever won the republican presidency with a split socon vote. Hence, if he runs and gets the nomination, we have president hillary.

I am one of the more conservative posters here and threads such as yours make Rudy a more sympathetic figure.
***Seeing the video, in his own words, it makes him a more sympathetic figure? Then those people who are sympathetic to him are simply not social conservatives. This is a socon site. Anyone who would be more sympathetic to a solib on a socon site would be someone with an agenda of trying to get us to change our viewpoint. It won’t work. In JimRob’s words:

“As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.”

That is probably an example of how these attack threads backfire. In a straight up primary I would vote for Hunter or Thompson (Fred) but after reading some of the comments on multiple threads it makes me wish I could vote for Rudy in the primary (well he might be my choice ahead of McCain).
***I will pray for you.

I would definitely vote for Guiliani against Clinton in the general election.
***I have decided I would vote a straight republican ticket in the general. If rudy is the republican nominee, then I will write in the social conservative republican who deserves to be president, Duncan Hunter. There, it’s a straight republican ticket. They should be happy.

The New York Empire is flat. And anyone who tries to venture past the edge of it, will fall off of the edge of the world.
***Interesting you should post that, but I never said anything like it and I’m wondering where it came from?

Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat.
***And your point is? Are you going to pull down Reagan to make rudy look good? That’s why Meg88 was banned.

If I get crickets to my question, I’m going to ping JimRob to your attention.

Maybe this is the thread for you:

It came from a few friends of mine and some writers around NYC over the past few decades. I also know some acquaintances who have considered moving away from NY and were told that it would be wrong to move out of that romanesque target area, unless they wanted to move to Israel.

Granted that most people there have knowledge of places existing far from NY, but do all New Yorkers really feel that life away from NY and San Francisco is civilized? It’s a public relations/emotional perspective that many of us are familiar with from various discussions of experiences.

Stand, Please consider Duncan Hunter as a candidate. He’s a fantastic social conservative.

And if you can’t vote on that day because the top of the ticket is sour, think about voting a straight republican ticket but then leave the top slot blank or write in Duncan Hunter. It would send a message, you could say you voted straight republican and at least helped on the coattails.

Um, what is your question? Is it about you thinking that I am pulling Reagan down? That is ridiculous.

I was only pointing out a fact related to jammer’s post. I don’t know how my post brings down Reagan. Are we scrubbing from the record that he wised up and left the Democrats? Why would you ping Jim about this?

Hell, if you want to try and have me banned for posting a historical fact, so be it. Also, I’ll repeat that my post regarding Reagan’s conversion was not addressed to you.

I’m in the silicon valley and people are always comparing that area to others in the US. The most usual comparison is to New York City due to the level of economic activity. But it’s a tremendous disparity of a joke. New Yorkers like to think they’ve seen a lot of change. 2 generations ago, that New Yorker’s grandfather had trouble finding a parking space in New York. 2 generations ago in silicon valley, it was raw fields and farms.

That attitude that NYC is the center of everything strikes me as a little arrogant, but... whatever. It doesn’t appeal to me.
