Since when do we buy into the word/thought police. Why do we have to consider some words ok while others are offensive. We are playing right into the hands of the PC crowd soas not to offend anyone.

Humor is offensive and especially invective humor which is what she uses effectively. It was a slam at Edwards' internet bloggers not at Edwards although he is a bit faggish.

Boy are we quick to throw our own under the bus.

I'm not throwing her under the bus. She has no official capacity withing the GOP, which is what the democRATs want to insinuate. I don't really care what she said, but if we apologize, or denounce her, then we just play into their hands by tacitly admitting she speaks for us.

"Since when do we buy into the word/thought police."

Way too many on the right do not have the intestinal fortitude to withstand the withering attacks from the PC crowd (both left and right).  Fortunately, Ann has the self-confidence and intelligence to see it for what it is and to use it to her advantage.

Democrats hate Ann Coulter because she scores a bull's-eye so often when 'shooting from the lip' (so to speak).  The best humor, satire, and sarcasm always contains an element of truth and Ann is very good at hitting the target.

The arrogant liberal left is more outraged that they have nobody on their side that can hold a candle to Ann's intelligent, humorous, and acerbic wit, (which utterly destroys their facade of having superior intellect and morals), than by the public skewering of their faults, foibles and idiocy.

Ann is a humorist and a political gadfly to the liberal left.  I'm glad she's on our side.

(For those (in Rio Linda) unfamiliar with the term gadfly):

American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source
gad·fly (gād'flī') Pronunciation Key
n.
  1. A persistent irritating critic; a nuisance.
  2. One that acts as a provocative stimulus; a goad.
  3. Any of various flies, especially of the family Tabanidae, that bite or annoy livestock and other animals.
