Goldwater's first wife, Peggy, was a member of the homicidal and infanticidal national board of directors of Planned Barrenhood from about 1940 until her death in 1975. Barry the Elder also entusiastically gushed publicly over how proud he was to have taken his daughter for her abortion of an "unwanted pregnancy." Whatever happened to Barry Goldwater, Jr., who served in Congress from California and lost a Senate nomination bid???? Why did he never run again?
One of Dick Cheney's daughters is a lesbian and the other is not. That one is a lesbian will be the private tragedy of the Cheney family. It will not be the policy of the GOP. Nor will you catch Dick Cheney or his wife Lynne publicly applauding that daughter's lesbianism. I suspect that the daughter in question is beyond Dick Cheney's control since she is in her 30s. He loves his daughter. That may be easily distinguished from loving her behavior.
The parent of one who gets drunk, drives and, in so doing, collides with and kills another motorist may well continue to be loved by his/her parents as Cheney's lesbian daughter is loved by hers. The parents of the drunk driver do not thereby endorse drunk driving. The Cheneys do not endorse lesbianism.
Barry Morris Goldwater gushily supported not merely his descendants but the premeditated killing of a grandchild by his daughter the guilt for which he shared by facilitating the killing, and the homosexuality of his grandson by applauding it. Finally, his spousal connection to Planned Barrenhood is the functional moral equivalent of backing Murder, Inc. back in the 1930s except that Louis Lepke Buchalter and his associates never dreamed of being responsible for tens of millions of homicides.
