Watch Senator Inhofe - Republican from Oklahoma, take on Al Gore and the media on global warming.
"Senator Inhofe"
A Republican Senator with a pair! Simply AMAZING!
Thanks for posting, but it is hard to get through the first minute. He's reading from a script and poorly at that, with a very flat delivery.
I hope he's not the best spokesman for our cause...
This is what happens when you read material that your staff prepared for the first time at the podium.
He sorely needs speaking lessons, dress rehersals and better knowledge of his subject matter.
I'm sure the message was good, but I was nodding off within 45 seconds.
I have always liked Inhofe. He stands with Israel and understands this terrorist threat the world is under.
It's called "Senate Floor Speak" - i.e., proper decorum. He is much more passionate in other venues.
That was Excellent!
I agree with several others that our side need to learn how to communicate and reach people. You don't do that by reading to them. At 1:49 or so his eyes briefly leave the book and he starts to communicate but that lasts only a few seconds and then he resumes the reading.
His background blue chart contains text and is generally unreadable. It should have been a graphic showing past climate fluctations.
While I appreciate someone speaking out on this issue I cringe at such a missed opportunity.
Actually - on the communications side - Senator Inhofe has a great website. Check out epw.senate.gov/minority. They even have a blog - and posted follow up notes to the speech. I hae to say for a United States Senator - this guy has it together. Youtube? Blog? Good website?
