Posted on 03/12/2007 11:46:38 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Chairman Henry A. Waxman announced a hearing on whether White House officials followed appropriate procedures for safeguarding the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. At the hearing, the Committee will receive testimony from Ms. Wilson and other experts regarding the disclosure and internal White House security procedures for protecting her identity from disclosure and responding to the leak after it occurred. The hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 16.

In addition, the Committee today sent a letter to Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald commending him for his investigation and requesting a meeting to discuss testimony by Mr. Fitzgerald before the Committee.

Too bad Valerie Plame wasn't a covert agent, wasn't outed by "Scooter" Libby (it was Colin Powell's boy Armitage) and is a political hack, like her husband.

WOW who's gonna lie this time?

I'm sick of this stuff.. How about the House committee to investigate the Crime of the Century why Sandy Berger stole documents which are now lost to the historical record of what caused the government to fail and stop 911 from happening... that is the real story... enough of this witch hunt crap.

I would hope this will all be under oath. So if anyone lies, send them to prison.

He might be. Thankfully, we have a sane and reasonable person chairing the House Committee on Government Reform.

This should be interesting. I can't wait to hear the testimony. Will it be closed door?

If the Republicans aren't wringing their hands in glee over the opportunity to grill that sick scumbag Plame, there's something wrong with them. Anybody know what Republicans are on that committee? Is there anybody with the guts to get to the bottom of the rogue CIA/State Department operation to smear Bush for the benefit of the Democrats?

Is there anybody with the guts to ask Plame why she sent her husband on a junket to Niger where he naively believed a couple of diplomats who assured him over cocktails that Saddam was not trying to get his hands on yellow cake uranium.

Is there a Republican with the guts to make it clear that new evidence shows that indeed Iraq WAS trying to score the yellow cake uranium, just like British intelligence has maintained all along?

Good grief! These hearings could be LOADS of great fun - - IF there are still any Republicans with a spine.

I think these "hearings" will be trying to get some information out that they think would be helpful to Wilson's civil suit to extract more information and publicity and money.

As I understand it, they filed civil suit in US District Court in DC. Just like Fitzfongs's charade, this lawsuit can only succeed in DC, as the sad and pathetic case of Denis Collins has already shown.

Could this case be moved out of DC, if not dismissed?

Hillary and Sandy Berger were not even indicted because there was no chance of convicting them in DC. On the other hand, following the example of Libby's conviction (sure to be overturned on appeal) by "jury of his peers" libs can use courts in DC the way they now use courts like 9th Circuit Court to make life and work in DC even more miserable and dangerous for Republicans.

Libs are using huge numerical advantage of DC Court jury makeup like unaccountable mafia, to intimidate political opponents. I think that fact should be addressed as soon as possible, because it's clearly [becoming] a factor in legal-political mix. Political trials must be moved out of DC.

Dan Burton used to be my Congressman and is the former head of the committee. He used to have the guts to ask the right questions. I hope he still does.

So, how do Plame or Wilson testify before congress on a matter where litigation is pending?

Hopefully, someone will think to ask for her personnel records from the CIA to determine if she was even covert before we waste another $50M looking for fly specks in the pepper.

He's mine now, and we hardly ever hear a peep out of him anymore.

Supposedly has a Primary challenger this next go-around

When I lived in Greenwood, he used to get 75% to 80% of the vote. The last time I voted for him, he was running against an ex-convict (The best the RATS could do).

You are right about the opportunity, but I'm not hopeful based on the names I see... though I don't know many of them. I don't expect much from Tom Davis, anyway. Maybe one of the others?

Well, if she not going to be sworn in, this isn't testimony. It's a farce. But then so was Fitz's trial.

I betcha she won't be sworn in....
