As I drove down the street I could see him following me, and he turned into a strip mall. I dropped my daughter off at school and then swung back to the mall to find the van. If I had seen him, I was going to call the cops right then and there. That's when I took the picture of his license plate. Judging from where he parked, I'd say he works at the mall or doesn't work at all. It was after school started for the day 8:30ish when I took the picture. The police report has been filed.
Well, I hope the cops do something about it. I'm sure if you called up your local tv station and explained a non-White liberal anti-war protester was assaulted by a Bush supporter they'd be more than happy to do a headline piece, but then if you changed that around to tell them the actual persuasion of the attacker they'd tell you you were asking for it and hang up on you. C'est la vie.
I'll tell you, folks don't really know what discrimination is in the 21st century unless you're a Conservative (and depending upon the modifier, Black-, Jewish-, etc., it gets progressively worse for you).
As I said, I hope you nail the SOB, and sue for damages (surely both you and your doctor were out $$ for having to postpone your surgery, which would've gone off without a hitch had this assault and confrontation never happened).
I'd think you'd have enough to add the claim of stalking, too.
