Reagan was divorced once, married a pregnant Nancy and was estranged from his kids.

If Newt endorses Giuliani, he WILL be thrown under the bus by conservatives.

You said twice divorced. So I corrected that. The kids were estranged from him, mostly over politics. Not because he was not an honorable man.

That would be the cross dressing Rudy Giuliani who did that. I found the picture. Why does the picture bother everyone, if his actions didn't bother you?

Oh, I can see that you're one of the freepers who is helping to get Free Republic referred to as a transsexual web site.

That was a picture of Rudy. Rudy is a transexual?

But what about the issues? I'm starting to think people are mixing up "conservative" with "displays of lots of government power." If a leader promises to "keep fighting" the war on terror, he gets these folks' support. Has Rudy promised to win it? I don't think so. He wouldn't dare.

Oh I get it . If we don't support Rudolph , that means we support Klinton . Nice try , but we are still in the primary season .

LOL. Okay, thanks. Usually I later look up someone who I think has been zotted, but I couldn't remember his exact screen-name and, in addition, the thread was eventually toasted. :O)

My problem isn't with his bad intentions. It's with his lack of constitutional principles. In fact, I'm unhappy with the lack of attention the current government is paying to the consitution in general. Few seem to notice. But it will add up if we don't stand up for better leadership in this coming election.

"It's been quite amusing to watch freeper throw lifelong conservatives under the bus because they happen to support a fiscal and law and order conservative like Rudy vs. a social conservative like Bush."

Is it too much to ask for a "conservative" to be both fiscally and socially conservative? Apparently it is. As for being "thrown under the bus", Mayor Giuliani has done a pretty good job of doing that to himself through his own behavior.

"Heck, freepers were even trashing Ted Olson the other day. And Newt. Newt had the temerity to praise Rudy and then HE got thrown under the bus too."

I wasn't there. People choose their company, and are known by the company they keep. Rep. Gingrich has something of a checkered personal past, so seeing him supporting Mayor Giuliani isn't all that surprising. Birds of a feather and all.

I agree with your concern for Constitutional principles, especially the 2nd Amendment. Add to that concerns for life, family values, immigration control and globalization and you have a totally worthless candidate in Giuliani.

I'm waiting for :

Lori Morgan says Fred Thompson the size of a horse; had 3 kids out of wedlock, one now flying in the Air Force reserve.

I'm waiting for: Duncan Hunter had two Viet underaged hookers in Nam and abandoned them.

I'm waiting for: Romney has 2 other wives, both now accuse him of molesting their children he has denied fathering.

The speculation goes on and on....I can't wait!

Is that what you think the WOT is?? And Rudy's success as Mayor preceded 9-11.

There's an undercurrent in this pro-Rudy support. People seem to be seeking authority as a refuge, forgetting that our security and freedom depend on our principles more than anything else. Plus, there seems to be a kind of continuity that Rudy might provide with the original federal/state reaction to 9/11. But I think it's time for fresh thinking. The leaders we had on 9/11 weren't elected to respond to that specific situation. It's time for new blood.

Yes. Explain to me how Rudy will win the war. Has he told us yet? How in his, let's say two terms, he will bring it to a close once and for all?

At least that's a cogent, non-personal, devoid of insults or snarks explanation as to why you won't be voting for him.
