Doug- you forgot my blog on how Rupert Murdoch stopped the Fox coverage of the case BEFORE the Rosen trial when Eric Shawn was taken off the case after doing six segments on Fox News Sunday, and it was given to Sean Hannity who feigned idiocy in not understanding it and he then buried it.
Fox is a new sock puppet for the Hillary Juggernaut because Murdoch is a pragmatist betting on who he thinks will be the 2008 winner.

Has Rupert Murdoch Directed NewsCorp To Hide Hillary’s Campaign Finance Scandal?

THE OLD HILLARY IS BACK

This NY Post story today seems to corroborate what had been commented  upon earlier when Fox News journalist Eric Shawn was taken off of the Paul v Clinton story prior to the Rosen trial in May, 2005. Shawn had done a series of six stories on Paul’s funding of Hillary’s largest fundraising event in Hollywood, and other activities Paul funded for Hillary in 2000 as part of a deal to hire Bill as a post White House rainmaker, when Shawn was suddenly taken off the story and effectively demoted to a talking head unable to choose his own stories or interveiw subjects.

Paul’s story was shuffled over to Sean Hannity who, after one interview with Paul, buried the story.

In Murdoch’s NY Post ’s story yesterday about “the Old Hillary” and her fundraising problems from 2000 coming back to haunt her, not one word was written about the only fund raising scandal in her campaign that caused her finance director to be indcited and tried for election law fraud, and six months later caused the only fine to be levied against her campaign committee when the FEC forced it to admit filing false reports hiding more than $800,000 contributed by Peter Paul. The news media has been unanimous in its silence on these inconvenient truths about Hillary dating from 2000-2006, and the significance of the only fraud and coercion suit against the Clintons that charge a then President and Senate candidate/Senator with conspiring to engage in a multimillion dollar business fraud to finance the Senator’s campaign while destroying a $150 million public company created by Spider Man creator Stan Lee!

But to recall Hillary’s 2000 campaign related finance issues without reference to the biggest camapign finance fraud ever reported by a donor- which was the biggest private concert ever produced in Hollywood that was also the biggest Gala for a US President in Hollywood demonstrates just how committed ALL media is to hiding the truth about Hillary.
February 16, 2007 — Hillary Rodham Clinton just picked up the influential endorsement of South Carolina State Sen. Derrell Jackson, who is also pastor of the state’s largest African-American church.

But, it seems, not exactly on the merits.

The Post’s Maggie Haberman reports that Jackson also runs a political consulting and PR firm, Sunrise Enterprises.

And, wouldn’t you know it, a scant six days before Jackson named Hillary as his choice for 2008, the Clinton campaign signed up Sunrise to a contract through the presidential election that could be worth at least $210,000.

Imagine that.

Both sides insist there’s no connection between the six-figure contract and the endorsement.

Indeed, says Jackson, three other Democratic candidates were negotiating a similar deal - and one even said he’d gladly double Hillary’s offer.

“Quite honestly, I’ve turned down more money from some of the other candidates,” said Jackson.

Give the fellow credit for candor, anyway. (Imagine Albany’s robber barons speaking truth to money like that.)

As for the Clintonites, they say that once Jackson decided to endorse her, “we jumped at the chance to make him part of the team and to cement that team and get him on board” by hiring his firm.

Does any of this sound familiar?

It should.

Bill Clinton (and partner Al Gore) gave America eight full years of fundraising abuses - going far beyond merely turning the White House into a Motel 6 for fat-cat contributors.

And Janet Reno, the most partisan attorney general on record, long refused to name a special prosecutor for most of those abuses. (Indeed, save for the end-of-term presidential pardons scandal, those sins remained well below the public radar.)

Now, it is true that Mrs. Clinton is her own person.

And visiting upon her the sins of the husband wouldn’t be fair - right?

Except that Hill and Bill were tighter up in New Hampshire last weekend than Marge and Homer Simpson - and that act’s not likely to end soon.

With the good, goes the baggage.

So to speak.

Besides, Hillary has had her own fundraising embarrassments. Back in 2000, she was caught using a public White House holiday party list to solicit cash for her Senate campaign - a possibly criminal act.

She later admitted “my error,” calling it an inadvertent “mix-up.”

The Clinton-Jackson deal, by the way, is all perfectly legal.

Odiferous, but legal.

But, just as Bill was never shy about such things, Hill shouldn’t be overly bashful, either.

After all, acquiring “endorsements” from folks like Derrell Jackson can be expensive - and it’s a long way to Election Day 2008.

So maybe the campaign - full in the Clinton tradition - could start selling chits good for overnights in the Lincoln Bedroom.

Or, as a surefire fund-raiser, it could auction coupons good for a presidential pardon - redeemable whenever circumstances warrant.

No doubt, Sen. Jackson would buy a couple.

One can’t be too careful, after all.
