Ironically, Doolittle's crews were highly agitated prior to attacking Japan when they heard sketchy reports about the Royce Raid using B-17s and B-25s to bomb the Japs in the Philippines, specifically Manila, Cebu and Davao, Doolittle's men thought that someone else had managed to bomb Japan first, but as it was they were the first to drop munitions on selected military targets in Japan proper, and their bombing mission forced the Japanese to keep more of their military on the home islands to guard against further attacks, which didn't help their offensive war plans one bit.

At least the brave warriors of that generation didn't have to worry about being stabbed in the back by our domestic enemies, aka the Democrat Party, as we're witnessing today.
