McCain Wrong on Iraq Security, Merchants Say (NY Times/CNN bashing)

BAGHDAD, April 2 — A day after members of an American Congressional delegation led by Senator John McCain pointed to their brief visit to Baghdad’s central market as evidence that the new security plan for the city was working, the merchants there were incredulous about the Americans’ conclusions.

Wow... I can remember a time when McCain could do no wrong in the eyes of the media. Nothing but glowing articles on him. But recently they've stuck him in the meat grinder like Bush and all other Republicans. No matter what you think of the guy he's getting it from the media because of his stance on the war. This just illustrates that the media is totally 100% against this war. On CNN at the top of the news hour, that reporter Michael Ware basically ripped him a new one as well...

Well, he really set himself up for this one in his comments last week; for a long time that sort of comment went either unreported or unchallenged, now the spotlight is on potential nominees and they are going to have to be much more careful abut this sort of stuff - if MSM does not jump on it bloggers - left and right - will. Today for example Obama is getting savaged over on places like Kos for trying to finesse his latest positions on on withdrawal "deadlines", and the fact that he's getting negative coverage there in turn becomes "news".

Candidates are all scrambling to to get ahead of the the curve - or at last not behind it - on this sort of coverage on a daily basis, and we will be seeing a *lot* it.
