Mission Statement:
Brighter Horizons Academy is a private Islamic academy serving North Texas. The Academy’s mission is to graduate practicing Muslim leaders and responsible citizens who are well prepared for college entrance and career challenges of the Twenty First Century. Our mission will be achieved through educational excellence within a healthy learning environment, intimate adherence to Islamic practices, and strong collaboration with positive interaction among school, students, parents, and community.
Vision Statement:
Brighter Horizons will be a model Islamic educational system, within which learners may develop to their fullest potential and become a generation of leaders and individuals who are highly motivated to be successful in this life and beyond.
History:
In 1988 a group of dedicated Muslim parents in the Dallas, TX area founded the Islamic Services Foundation (ISF) for the purpose of establishing an educational institution conducive to an Islamic learning environment. The initial plan was to start with kindergarten and first grade levels and to add one higher grade level every year.
Today Brighter Horizons Academy College Preparatory (BHA) is the first full-time Islamic college preparatory academy in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. It is considered the largest full-time Islamic school in the southern United States. Since its inception the Academy has grown from 10 students in 1989 to over 630, ranging from PK to 12th grade having graduated three senior classes as of 2004.
By the blessings of Allah (SWT) and the tireless efforts of dedicated parents, teachers, and community members the Academy will continue to navigate and accomplish its mission to make a difference in this part of the world.
At BHA we offer the necessary educational programs and tools in order to provide a balanced curriculum in Arabic, Quran, Islamic Studies and required regular core subjects for our students.
