(((Norm..some 60 y.o.s can look and feel 50, others look 80. Im 59...and run a 10k race..every month. I dont think m my two sons-in-law could run a mile in under 10 minutes...and I can beat BOTh of them at tennis, golf, even basketball..Thats not the point. Comments were raised on the thread by several Freepers, who are Fred supporters, that in nhis appearance he looked older, tired than a short time before. No more, no less...in the context of this announcement, its not good for him.)))
And has anyone seen Sylvester Stallone lately? 60? Wow.
This from Captains Quarters:
UPDATE IV: I’ve made a few calls on my lunch break, and here’s the scoop. Fred’s had this for almost three years now, and he’s not missed any work or slowed down at all during that time. He and his wife had a child during this period, which gives an indication that he has plenty of stamina; after all, shooting schedules for weekly television programs are not known to be kind to cast and crew.
Why is he announcing this now? Word is that he wants to make sure that his supporters feel comfortable with the issue before proceeding, and he’s interested in the commentary. He’s a straight shooter and he didn’t want this to be a surprise during a campaign — he’s laying his cards on the table. For Fred supporters, that thought process should be very encouraging.

Wonderful post...thanks:)
I’m beside myself!
Fred T will be on Hannity today. Just FYI.
My former boss had NHL and is still with us and still working and still a royal pain in the arse 8 years later.
Just some background.
Later!
First and foremost, prayers and blessings to the Thompson family. Cancer is a scary thing, but it sounds as if things are under control and his general health is good.
Praise God.
Second, I am in agreement with those that think that his announcement of this very personal matter means that he is getting ready to throw his hat in the ring, and for that I say WOO HOO!
Cards are on the table, the press can’t use this as some sort of weapon, the doctor says you are good to go!
Giddy up!
ROFL! Excellent!
I lost an aunt to it in 1992, but she was 87 years old. At that age almost anything can get you, and she'd had a long full life.
But I lost a girlfriend to it in 1987 (B-cell, non-Hodgkins). I helped her through her chemotherapy and the bone marrow transplant that followed when the chemo didn't do the job. Unfortunately she didn't make it. She was 34.
A lot has changed since '87, so I imagine the prognosis is better.
I realize when you see a deleted post(s) on this kind of thread, it’s assumed that someone said something inappropriate about the person that is ill. That was not, however, the case here. See post #274, it’s explained there also.
Only 2 reasons we’d be hearing about this:
1) A potential opponent leaked it.
2) Fred wants to run and he’s getting it out before someone else does.
I’m thinking #2.
I just read on Yahoo that Fred Thompson is also battling MS. Is that true?
Neil Cavuto is suffering from MS...has been for years. He sucks it up..lot of guts.
I will go read Yahoo now.
Again-...dealing with a poorly written piece..but anyway:
“Thompson told Fox interviewer Neil Cavuto, who has battled Hodgkin’s disease in the past and has multiple sclerosis, he has many friends in politics, some running for president, who have successfully dealt with cancer.”
Wow! Fred is one strong guy! Bless him! Amazing! Romney’s wife also has MS!
He looks very good for someone who has all that going on.
So long as we’re clear- Thompson does NOT have MS....his interviewer, Neil Cavuto does.
prayers for Fred and his family!
Thompson told Fox interviewer Neil Cavuto, who has battled Hodgkins disease in the past and has multiple sclerosis, he has many friends in politics, some running for president, who have successfully dealt with cancer.
Friends running for president who have had cancer include McCain and Guiliani.
Thanks. I was reading RedState and they were saying that and then I read Yahoo. They misread it just like I did. Its the way Yahoo writes it. If you don’t read it carefully it makes it seem like Fred has MS.
Go over there to Red State and CORRECT their assumption!!!
Bingo!
