Top Iran MP (member of parliament) wants talks with US House speaker Pelosi

A top MP said on Friday the Tehran parliament would favour talks with US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after her controversial visit to Iran's ally Syria, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

"We are ready for talks with US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi," said Mohammad Nabi Rudaki, deputy head of the influential national security commission in Iran's conservative-dominated parliament.

"Parliamentary talks can discuss bilateral problems and bring US, European and Iranian nations closer. They could also consider Iran's peaceful nuclear issues," he said.

But Rudaki added that "this willingness does not mean a resumption of political ties with the occupying and bullying US government."

Pelosi's office said on Wednesday she had no intention of visiting Iran after a top US lawmaker signalled she might be interested in doing so.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Lantos said after accompanying Pelosi to Damascus to meet Syrian President Bashar al-Assad amid stiff White House opposition that he had tried for more than 10 years to get a visa for Iran.

Tehran and Washington have had no diplomatic ties since Islamist revolutionaries raided the US embassy in Iran in 1979 and held staff hostage for 444 days.

The US is spearheading an international campaign to thwart Iran enriching uranium, which it alleges to be a cover for weapons development. Tehran denies the charges, saying its nuclear programme is for purely peaceful purposes.

Yeah, the school principal wants to talk with little Johnny too. Being summoned like this is more indicative of expectation of submission than of true power.

Nancy Pelosi, you are making yourself subordinate by your self-serving actions and you don’t even see it.

This is funny--all the dictators and scum want to talk to Pelosi, and yet the dems will be FROTHING if someone dares suggest they are anti-American.

I have no problem defining anti-American as "One who tries to undermine the authority of the elected US government."

Ignore her feeble rantings and insane actions for the time being..

The constitution is quite clear..
Neither the House nor it's Speaker have anything to do with foreign policy, or with treaties...
That is the province of the Executive branch and the Senate..

Nancy Pelosi can do a rain-dance 'till the cows come home, and it won't change the facts..
There is nothing she can do to actually affect foreign policy..
She does not have that power..

All she can do is make loud noises..

Has anyone noticed the chilling resemblance between the delusional actions of Speaker Pelosi and Cindy Sheehan?

I'm not a psychiatrist, however it appears that both women share the same psychopathy, and are so delirious in their lust for attention and media accolades that they potty on their own country just for the "juice" and the "ink" that it brings them.

Sickos, both.

The President should authorize a State Department officer to be present with Pelosi and ready with a gag to prevent her stupid and arrogant behavior from being misconstrued as holding any official weight.

Unfortunately it will be our foreign enemies (versus our domestic ones) who will be capitalizing on Pelosi’s actions for propaganda to encourage more outrages.

“they potty on their own country”

No.

There are those who were born in America and are still in America, but America is not in them.

There are several terms that describe such people; the mildest one is EXPATRIATE.

And we are foolish to permit them to call themselves patriots or to hold office.
