WASHINGTON, April 16, 2007 An alleged terrorist being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, denied U.S. government accusations that he managed al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan or facilitated a failed terrorist attack on Los Angeles in 1999, according to a transcript released today from his March 27 tribunal hearing.
The detainee, Abu Zubaydah, told the tribunal through an interpreter that he didnt support Osama bin Ladens philosophy of targeting innocent civilians as part of waging jihad, or holy war. He was captured during a raid at a safe house in Pakistan on March 28, 2002. |

So, according to him, he didn’t run the camps, he just facilitated logistics for the camp trainees.
He admits he was thinking about blowing up targets inside the US, he says it was all “hypothetical”. But he did apparently get passports for another terrorist who did intend to launch these attacks.
So maybe that, by his own admissions, makes him a logistics guy for Al Qaeda.
I think that means he needs to remain at Guantanamo for the duration. If he wants to give up some juicy information we could reconsider, but I think he’s about 5 years late. The really juicy stuff has a short shelf life, and I think he’s missed his chance.
What did Bill Clinton know and when did he know it?
uh,... Monika’s phone #?
Well, at least he wasn’t a Saudi claiming he was in Afghan on charitable buisness and got caught up in the Taliban thing. That excuse was used quite a bit per the book “Jawbreaker”.
