[Kucinich] To Pursue Impeachment Of Cheney
CBS 5 ^ | Apr 23, 2007

Posted on 04/23/2007 7:43:10 PM PDT by Lorianne

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a vocal critic of the Bush administration's war in Iraq, plans to introduce articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday.

Kucinich, a Democrat who is again running for president, said Monday that he will hold a news conference in Washington to discuss his bid to oust Cheney. Kucinich spokeswoman Natalie Laber declined further comment.

Under the House impeachment process, Kucinich's articles would be reviewed by the House Judiciary Committee, which would decide whether to conduct an impeachment inquiry. The committee would seek authority from the entire House before beginning an inquiry.

Cheney spokeswoman Megan McGinn responded to Kucinich's announcement by saying that the vice president has served the nation honorably for almost 40 years.

"The vice president is focused on the serious issues facing our nation," McGinn said.

On his campaign Web site, Kucinich questions whether the Bush administration's aggressive actions toward Iran already have raised concerns over impeachment.

"So I'm asking you, what do you think? Do you think it's time?" Kucinich asks.

Given Dingy Harry’s recent pronouncements, the GOP can make a case for his impeachment for providing aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war.

Kooky Kuspinich is nuttier than a nutty, nutty fruitcake. He’s fruitier than a nut cake.

Where do you start with a pathetic weirdo like Kuspinich? How did he ever get even this far? What keeps fruitcakes like this going?

Gore, Jon Carry, Howard Dean, Ralph Nadir (sic), Arlen Specter, Joe Biden,....what’s wrong with these people? Why don’t they have enough sense to quit when nobody wants them?

All we have to do is pull out the clips of Clinton, Kerry....saying Saddam had WMD’s. They voted for the war & had complete access to pre-war intel. These people are insane.

That's true and I would tend to agree with you. However, like AG Gonzales, the Bush Administration and many non-spined republicans have all but taken responsibility for "mistakes" regarding the WMD. This throws a monkey wrench into a lot of this.

Here's what I always knew. We didnt go into Iraq because of WMD. We went there because of Saddam's connection to Al Qaeda (that connection was confirmed by the 911 commission and also by who is doing the killings in Iraq today.)

The only part that WMD had to play in this war was that we should invade Iraq NOW before Saddam had them and could use them.

Unfortunately, this is not remembered...not even by the White House itself.

PS: I supported the invasion of Iraq. I would have hesitated that support if it was known and confirmed that Saddam already had WMD. That was also the argument made by those supporters of the war way back when.

Talking about “big guns”... unfortunately our big guns were chased out of office...Tom Delay... George Allen... heck...who here can name Dennis Hastert’s replacement in the GOP? On a local talk show most republicans dont even know the name of the senate minority leader.

That’s sad. And scary.

Kucinich is the biggest gun they have.

Heightism, tsk tsk.

If you’ll pardon rough language, Kucinich can kiss my ass, and just to show it’s nothing personal, I’ll lend him a ladder.

I dunno - maybe breathing oxygen is illegal on Kucinich’s home planet. It’s bad enough that he was dropped on his head too many times as a child, but it happened on Planet Zoob, where the gravity is so much stronger than on Earth. That sort of thing will leave a mark. It’s a good thing he’s found employment as a Congressman because I sure wouldn’t want him driving my bus.

What are the charges. Clinton’s was perjury. What is Cheney’s. What did Cheney do.

As far as I can tell, it's what they think Cheney is about to do, encourage military action against Iran. Kookinich is loopy with the need to hurt someone to get his name in the news.
