Excerpt -
BAGHDAD, April 29 (Reuters) - About two dozen loud explosions shook southern Baghdad on Sunday, Reuters reporters heard. The blasts, several seconds apart, sounded like artillery.
The U.S. military could not immediately confirm the cause of the blasts. U.S. military spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Christopher Garver said the military sometimes fired artillery in support of operations.

Glad to know that it is OUTGOING MAIL and a CHRISTMAS MAIL RUSH at that. Who is it addressed to, SADAR’s boys?
Sorry, couldn’t resist using the terms of the WWII generation.

U.S. military spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Christopher Garver said the military sometimes fired artillery in support of operations. "You mean they can do that? Just like W.W.II? Then send in the ground forces?" Washington.
"Yes."
"Doh!" Washington.

Who is it addressed to, SADARs boys? Yep. They found some thug-militia outposts.
That are no longer there.

155’s have such a special way of doing just that especially if the first salvo is a 4 BTY TOT.

155s have such a special way of doing just that especially if the first salvo is a 4 BTY TOT. I remember in '04, the 155s were mounted right behind the camp I was on. Those things would knock things off of desks and file cabinets, etc. They certainly get one's attention.
Whenever we had a crop of newbies in and the 155s would start going, we delighted in watching the newbies run for the bunkers, dragging on their protective gear as they went.
I can be a very bad person. ;-)
